Let's have an early meet up for anyone who is around - is 6pm OK for people? Some sort of place where anyone who has a little or a bit more time can drop by? I'm avaiable until around 8pm and then I need to go and see my hosts. Someone local, please suggest a simple place in the mid city area.

RSVPs please:

How often to members in Sydney meet up? Is it monthly ? And always on a Wednesday ? Is it usually at Trivia at the Rocks?

Yes, the trivia mob don't seem to be available so a quick get together seems best. Are you able to suggest a place...

I'd be happy to do dinner somewhere and not the trivia...

I don't know about that, I'm a one off ring in.

Happy to meet up for dinner, besides I suck at trivia anyway!
Anyone else staying at HSYD, if so we could do a mini lounge catch up before dinner. I reckon I can get 2 guests through.

That's Hilton SYD on George St? I'm not staying there but can meet for a lounge visit first. What time - 6pm OK?

Anyone else coming?

Might be available. Do need to learn how to do something new at work.

Markis10 started the trivia idea. It's been a random undertaking since then. Personally I've never seen the trivia as the point of the night. Heaps of great tips for flying have been mentioned, with the trivia being a convenient side issue. But the trivia night is a bit time constrained and forced in formality of booking. (Besides we never won)

a long way of saying it is probably time to look at something different. If there is general interest in a regular meet up probably as good a time as any to set that up.

I'm available for dinner on Wed (previously SMSed Aeolus)...Aeolus, previously, you have mentioned a Thai place in the city?

Assam is a good place, relatively cheap eats and very tasty thai food all round.
This is a sister restaurant to Chat Thai.

So at this stage, there's Aeolus and me at Assamm on Wed at 7pm :) Should probably put up a new thread. if there's more interest...

I enjoy the trivia side but as medhead points out you are tied to a particular day / time. For me Wednesdays are generally a busy evening. I would support the move to a regular social meeting preferably on a Tuesday or a Thursday. Unfortunately I can't make the Thai dinner this week.

Medhead joining us for dinner as well. I'll set up a seperate thread when I have access to my laptop.

Hello,

Is the weekly meets still happening?

Meetings were generally monthly but haven't happened for a while. There was some discussion about meeting monthly but doing something else (dinner maybe?). Anyone else interested in meeting up?
