Tale of 2 brekkies [or Qantas "Cafe" Breakfast Sucks!]

This tiny portion of cold Japanese style rice wrapping and some fresh fruits was all I got for breakfast on QF22 (J).

After some 9 hrs in the air, arriving at 8am, it appears QF expects you to BYO when it comes to breakfast.

Never mind only 1-2 pax ordered dinner anyway (I did not).

Quite disappointing !

It was a paid ticket - ouch !

Is this seriously all you got for a J breakfast? That is absolutely disgraceful.

firstly, I apologize that my post goes a bit 'off topic'...and many will be shocked at my post..as many think i'm a QF 'fanboy'..bad move by QF to cut the food budget on any flight...food is a high priority to travelers...

Actually, I got less.

See my edited post.

The fresh fruits belonged to my dear wife.

Absolutely disgraceful. Red Roo, I know you watch this thread, but seriously, how can this continue.

Makes me glad I'm flying JQ J to NRT later in the year.

An absolute Disgrace and even more so when ylou consider it is a fully paid for ticket.

Had a much much much better Brekkie on a Domestic Flight MEL-SYD in J in December.

Shame

Shame

Shame on you Qantas

makes a complete mockery of the current promo something about restaurant in the sky

It’s about Australia's finest restaurant in the sky.

I'm all for eating light, healthy, non fatty/greasy food especially when you're sedentary and wanting sleep; but a rice cracker? Perhaps some toasted muesli and fruit? But a rice cracker!

To be fair, few fine dining restaurants offer breakfast .

Agreed however it states FINEST RESTAURANTS now a fine restaurant can serve meals at all times of the day that are of a high quality. What was offered here is worse than anything that I have seen at Maccas !!!!!

Or is QF saying that Maccas is a Fine Restaurant and we should lower our expectations tom that or lower :D

Wow.. I'm quite shocked at the picture of meagre breakfast offerings.
My last SQ flight had 4 times the amount of breakfast & that was in Y.
What a sad & shameful Qantas catering ex NRT.

Wow, on Thai flights leaving Bangkok at midnight for Melbourne they serve a full hot dinner with all the trimmings. Before landing is a full hot breakfast also with all the trimmings. I thought they had average J catering but looking at what QF is offering on similar length flights I am quite frankly disgusted. It's as if Qantas management WANT the airline to fail.

Seriously?? That's it for me, I've really had enough of being patient with Qantas hoping they will improve J service. Over the last year I've put up with the stupid croissant cafe breakfasts on HK flights and the lack of suitable snacks on long haul LAX or LHR flights since the introduction of the stupid small and large plates menu (sure you can have a snack if there is anything left over from the dinner service... which there usually isn't...). My next booking is Cathay - I've been itching to try there new J seats anyway...

Pardon the rant.

I got this on QantasLink last month. I think I got a better deal.

About to take my HKD->SYD flight tomorrow CX-J. I shall remember to take a breakfast picture.
One picture before I start eating and one picture after I finish eating.
When I finish eating, the left overs should be what is considered the QF breakfast.

JQ J is not J

Besdies flying JQ is exactly what QF want you to do

This, I know, it's Dom J or Int PE, but it costs a helluva lot less than QF J and I can sleep Int PE seats and only the return, NRT-OOL, is overnight.

Given how bad the QF J service is getting, they should only be charging JQ prices. If they want to carry on charging their normal J price, they have got to get back on the game!!

that is just totally unacceptable. I would be unhappy with that in Y!

Glad i've never wasted $$ on a paid QF J ticket... ever!

I must be a born sucker for QF*

QF1/2 in a few months in J !

I'll try to remember taking pictures of the breakfast on arrival @ LHR and SYD.

* actually, it is OPM

Don't despair. The brekkie on QF8 (DFW-BNE) the other day was pretty good - FWIW, it was a paid fare WMM.....(with my money)
