Tale of 2 brekkies [or Qantas "Cafe" Breakfast Sucks!]

So what happened to the rest of the breakfast?

That's exactly why I started the thread. This is medium haul international business breakfast AKA ' Cafe Breakfast'. Last time I think I got some choppeD fruit as well, but the "cough-fe" breakfast should be a running embarrassment for Qantas.

Red Roo needs to look into it! Or even changed.

The breakfast into Dubai (ex lhr) in PE is shameful as well. Catering cuts and Qantas seem to go well together which is a shame...

Re: Qantas Cafe Breakfast

Amazes me that a domestic J flight get's way more breakfast items than an international J flight

Qantas - Give customers the option of a FULL or CAFE breakfast

Serving up this rubbish in J on a medium haul flight is a joke!

It's cost cutting pure and simple

Just found a photo of my brekkie on QF24 at the end of last month.unlike the previous pictures on here I only got half a toasted sandwhich-cold and soggy to boot.

That actually looks worse than the croissant! How do they get away with this? I had the "pleasure" of the cafe breakfast on QF30 a few months ago and will be doing the same trip in a couple of weeks. Sigh...

Re: Qantas Cafe Breakfast

Appalling stuff... and I said as much in a recent 'Qantas Advisory Panel' survey which made reference to the video where they say they have 'listened' to what customers want with regard to J breakfast options... yeah, right!

I think I posted this before somewhere but this was my best brekkie ever on QFImageUploadedByAustFreqFly1381795769.334338.jpg
It was travelling on a 737 PER-MEL. That cafe breakfast looks awful.

Saying that, this breakfast wasn't too flash looking or tasting either

It's from F DXB-LHR

OMG the difference in quality is palpable and that pizza looking thing in first aweful

Now that the various smoked meat morsels (which can't be mentioned) have disappeared from the breakfast tray perhaps a replacement might be a nice serve of smoked kippers (with Lurpak, of course, and some Irish soda bread)!

yes...ALL airlines on the ASIA-AUS sectors offer varying breakfast services/options...and i'm willing to bet...at the end of the day...NO airline pleases EVERYONE (including those that serve a 'full breakfast') someone will always complain about something.. dont forget..NO MATTER WHAT 'CLASS' ..HOW MUCH YOU PAY OR THINK YOU ARE ENTITLED TO...IT'S STILL MASS/PUBLIC TRANSPORT!!

That is a rather sweeping statement.

Instead of capitalising your thoughts, it would be more helpful if there is some objective data to support your proposition.

I have not had the (dis) pleasure of having a cafe breakfast on QF yet, but I have plenty of breakfast from SQ and EK (long haul F/J) and QF J (domestic J) this year and to me, they all seem more nutritious and filling than what has been reported here.

So, from a personal series of one, the mass / public transport offerings [from EK/SQ/QF DOM] are not too shabby - quite enjoyable in the case of SQ F.

That's why I could not follow the thought "no matter what class !" you are expressing.

I will have QF12 (J) returning in a few weeks and will find out if they offer "cafe" breakfast or not.

Thanks

Gosh.. I sure hope the Red Roo is monitoring this thread.

Very likely, but irrelevant. After all, Qantas is " merely giving its customers what they have asked for".

Insulting tripe of course, but that's the spin we get these days.

A FA told me the reason was to let pax sleep longer on the relatively short overnight hauls. As a light sleeper, I appreciate the thinking. However it falls apart when they still start the service 1.5 hrs out and / or you consider that, by the time they clear the cafe breakfast stuff away even when served 1 hour out, one could have happily disposed of any normal J breakfast.

It's just cost cutting, dressed up as customer want.

Oh dear. SHOUTING at us over breakfast, again?

Here's the 'Cafe Breakfast' as served on QF52 in premium economy.

Just the standard tray with a sultana pastry with a croissant.
