What's the thing on the shelf? Looks like a large rissole! :-)

Cafe Breakfast on QF82 that landed in Sydney this morning was underwhelming. Toast probably had less than 5% water content but if you left it a while, the mushy tomatoes fixed that.

Re: Qantas Cafe Breakfast

Still have not heard the 'why' from you.

Hard to believe QFi would do that to a F pax.

Have you raised the issue with anyone on board or with QF post the flight ?

So bloody reasonable looking food as opposed to what I was offered in First A380 which was tea only

Re: Qantas Cafe Breakfast

Mr jojen & I experienced breakfast on QF 128 in June HKG-SYD on our last flight from RTW in J . We were very surprised to be offered a citrus fruit salad with yogurt OR a ham and cheese croissant !! We did ask for the citrus fruit salad each and a croissant to share. The citrus fruit salad was very acidic and we could not finish it.

On the same flight in late August but this time in Y+ we were not expecting much at all. We were very surprised to be offered a choice of a continental breakfast or hot breakfast.

We both chose the continental which consisted of a seasonal fruit platter and bircher muesli . Both were delicious and serving was a generous portion. There was also a banana muffin on the tray that we did not eat.

Why is it that this can be served in Y+, but in J you are left feeling hungry after a meal ? Surely if Y+ can be served a generous meal the same should be available to passengers in J

That was exactly my thought after SIN-BNE in J.

I was incredibly disappointed with the "new" breakfast options.

That was after being underwhelmed by the "new small plates" cough that passed for dinner service after take off.

I'd take the old styles any day.

I'm told that QF6 this morning in J had something similar.

In PE on the other hand (where I was) there were some pastries and a fruit salad. I think I'd rather that one :)

I personally skipped both meal services on QF6 as I wanted to sleep (I went straight to the office upon landing in Sydney).

Just as another comparison, as if we need any more, to show how poor the cafe breakfast is, I was in J from BNE to SYD this morning and got a fruit salad and a rather nice ham and cheese toastie with a poached egg and spinach.

Yes, crazy that domestic J gets a better breakfast than international.

Just found a photo of my brekkie on QF24 at the end of last month.unlike the previous pictures on here I only got half a toasted sandwhich-cold and soggy to boot.
