Tale of 2 brekkies [or Qantas "Cafe" Breakfast Sucks!]

I was on QF82 on 24 August and ok I didn't get woken up a couple of hours before landing but it was 1.75 hours before landing. For the extra 15 minutes sleep I got, I would rather have had a proper breakfast instead of the dried up croissant that made an enormous mess with flakes going everywhere.

My recent QF30 resembles this.

Just did QF 30 myself. Happy to report an apparent improvement in the Café breakfast; service commenced 1.5 hrs before arrival.

Juice/energizer; tomato and cheese toasted sandwich; fruit with dollop of yoghurt; apricot Danish also available (don't know if additional or alternative); tea/coffee. Served on ceramic plates (or whatever it is - not plastic tray).

Good to hear.

Perhaps my feedback and RedRoo's follow-up has actually made a difference!

Will be seeing again in just over 2 weeks so hopefully some improvement.

I did SIN MEL and I fell like they woke us ages before landing to give us Breakfast.

I would have preferred to sleep all the way.

I had planned on have J lounge bfast but that was ruined.

It was a full A380.

What happened to the breakfast option on the card being either a) wake me at a specific time b) server me breakfast when I wake c) don't bother me, I want to sleep and slip breakfast. Have those options disappeared now?

Certainly on overnight sectors from SIN or HKG or MNL the cards and options appear to have gone. Each of these I have flown in past few months the 'Café breakfast' service has been a wake up alarm - no attempt at all to do the service quietly in case you are still asleep.

Another vote for the business "cafe breakfast" being rubbish. (QF128 HKG-SYD)
Speaking to other PAX I have not found anyone who likes the change and I find the QF line on the change laughable.
(though quiet a few crew will agree privately)
Give us back the choice QF! might be the straw that moves me to VS.
Ironically economy still gets a cooked breakfast.
