Thanks for the feedback guys-
TonyHancock I'll be adding Y+ as an option after I get Android version sorted.
Princess Fiona I have to play with mileage monkey to see how they do it, shouldn't be hard to change a leg on the fly.

Anyways I've made lots of changes and added a heap of new features since I sent out the first beta.

The app now:
  • Can email anyone the results of a calculation.
  • Display your last 10 searches in your Flight History.
  • Automatically workout min point earns for BA,AA and QF depending on the route (including that tricky disc-econ 125 BA rule)
  • Autocomplete /Suggest feature so you dont have to know the airport code or city.
  • Error Correction and backend bug fixes too.

Once I get the finer details sorted I expect it to be released in a month. I have started playing with porting it to Android as well! Stay tuned .

Hey Fuzzy, I thought I had send emails out to everyone who had send me their IOS UUID.

No probs! Although I really only have space for you three guys. Apple limit the number of devices I can test with a year. Follow the link below -
iPhone 101: Find UDID with a single click
and email me your UUID to [email protected].

I too am still waiting. I did email you my udid a week or two ago but never heard back :(

Hey Drew. Your second email went to Junkmail ...
I'll add you in when I get a chance.
Adam

Ta

(just as well I couldn't send my UDID when I was overseas last; I dropped my iPhone just over 2 weeks ago and shattered it, had to get a new one :()

Sorry I didn't join in as well. Thanks to everyone for all the work.

I'm looking forward to the release of this APP.

There are two versions of the App - Free and Paid.
Different features on each one, as the forum has a no commercial posts rule I didn't mention it- itunes store being a pain not updating links.

Just bought the paid app! :)

Congrats on a really nice piece of work! hope you make some money from this. :)

Thanks guys.
For those who want to try the free one you can do a search for 'frequent flyer' in the app store on your phone and it should appear down the list- it seems it's up in the US store but Aus store takes longer to carry across.

I've found the set up nice and clean. So far no problems with bugs or the app freezing and quitting unlike other apps.

Well done and good luck with the paid app!

Just a couple of quick questions:

- If you put in an airport that it doesn't know does it prompt you with an error? I just tried SYD-JED and it came up with 180 SCs - not sure if that is the direct mileage based calc as you can only get there flying SYD-HKG-JED

- Maybe a point for the future - identify the airline flown and factor that into the calculation possibly?

Looks good so far.

I downloaded direct to my iPhone, and when I did the search both the free and paid app showed up. :)

For your first question: The autocomplete script is local to the phone and stores about 700 airports. The backend database has about 1300 or so, if you enter a airport code or city unknown locally the app will try match it to the database using generic search terms. If it isnt in the database the app will give you an error (generic error at this point - working on that) if you it doesn't find an airport - shoot me off an email or message on here. :-)

At the moment the calculator doesn't know routes directly, rather it maps distance so you would have to enter way-points.

Great thanks - when I tried using the way points it got the right answer but I wasnt sure whether that was luck or judgement ;)

In testing I found that the actual points calculated were normally only 5-10 points different from actual QF earning.

Next update i'm working on will most likely include a feature to retrieve your current points / status balance from QF site.

Just brought the paid version too.. looks great.. no problem in paying for a great program...

but any reason why JNB is not in the list of airports ? Should the list include all Oneworld served airports ? PLZ (Port Elizabeth is missing also).Just based on my upcoming Oneworld flights.
