Excellent news!
I would be very surprised to see the F cabin 100% full ted123, did you try to call TG after the recent change to ask about your booking?

I think for those with F->J->F a lot is going to depend on what has happened to tickets in the mean time. If the ticket has been reissued or revalidated for business class, Thai will only see payment for that class of travel and will have no reason to move you back to the F cabin.

If your ticket has stayed in 'O' class, but you were seated in business class, TG should be able to sort that out. I would still be wanting to make sure the ticket has been revalidated correctly to reflect the class of service you want for the day.

just off the phone from Bkk office and you are correct the F cabin is 100% full and yes Thai did re-issue our tickets in Business..I am suprised No.

Bangkok mentioned they could see the original ticket was O class but now it is I class...Only Sydney could overide.

As I say it's the Thai way or the highway....lol

I agree. Will confirm on Monday with the local Thai office. I wont be losing any sleep as it was never a suprise with Thai's back and forth.

Are you on a Thai airways own FF program redemption? (rather than US Airways or Avianca)

Ted which number did you call btw? I will need to do the same on Monday as well.

Looks like it is the old 747 (with 10 F seats) rather than the new Fs

Don't waste your time calling Bangkok they'll send you back to Sydney. Try (61-2) 9844-0929. Yes it seems the 10 seat old config back on. But who knows Thai could swap to 773 anything is possible.

Thanks - I might just pop into their Sydney office on Monday as my office is nearby

On a US Airways ticket...

Ted if you check your booking on Thai.com, do you still see you old F booking on there but marked as unavailable?

It is showing both old F and new J booking on mine, and if I try to print eticket it only shows my HKG - BKK leg and not the BKK-SYD leg ( I originally booked it as HKG- SYD in F).

Mine show new J for some reason...Guest relations are aware and have my booking details. They did notify me last week to hang 5 as they heard that f was coming back..i will find out what they can do with my 2 F tix on Monday. I also have 2 J on the same flight.

And I just cancelled my UA award hkg-bkk-syd because I didn't want to fly J :(

I am sorry to hear Alanslegal. I would of done the same however I contacted Thai and they informed me to hold onto my reservation as the 747 was possibly going to return within 2-3 weeks. It has sooner than expected.

ah ok, was just confused when you said Thai re-issued your tickets. If it had been on TG it would have been even easier to get the F seats back.

Apologies for the confusion...Yes with TG much easier now its like pulling teeth going to TG to reallocate then Usairways to reissue..If it doesn't workout I will be fine as the other 2 family members are in J and i am happy to travel with them.

Did you get notification from USDM about them reissuing the ticket?

Good luck Wozz I hope it works out for you.

Thanks ted.

I didn't speak to AV as I fear that they will cancel my booking altogether - you can book mixed class with AV.

I think I will speak to Thai and see what they say, though I have a feeling that they will ask me to contact AV directly...

no i didn't i still have the message when I log in to USairways to accept changes which I havent. I did call them today and they cant explain. Not too worried caused its with TG now and they will call me on Monday. Either way my family of 4 will be flying together in same class J..

fingers crossed. Thai tried very hard to get me to deal direct with US Airways and I reinforced to them that they no longer have access to STAR ALLIANCE inventory. I kept pushing back and raised with them what is the compensation that I am entitled too for all of our 4 legs that have been involuntary downgraded by Thai. Only then did they show a little compassion and wanted to help. I encourage that you do the same. Good luck.
