Probably fortunately we fly out early Sunday.
There are planned takeovers of other Government buildings today and tomorrow.

Ouch. Thought about going back to Thailand on a last minute trip but doesn't seem to be a good time... Sick of the cold weather in Seattle... need warm, sunny weather...

The leader of the demonstrations has said it is all or nothing on Monday.Says if the Government doesn't fall he is giving up.
So Monday is obviously a day

John my computer is copying yours.Several times I have noticed it stops even though I keep typing. This time I didn't notice.Ie to avoid should be added.

I agree, I've got a trip there on 31 Dec, very cheap QFi J fare.

We should have a catch up if you are in Bangkok. I am in Hilton Sukhumvit New Years Day, Hilton Doubletree then next and Millenium Hilton the day after that one. Another AFFer is around as well.

Sounds like a plan, on 31 Dec I got a very cheap night (THB5,000 incl tax) at the Conrad residences. Haven't booked the rest of my stays yet.

And here is a Thai minister stating the bleeding obvious:

The continuing anti-government protests are hurting the country's tourism industry, Tourism and Sports Minister Somsak Phurisisak said on Saturday.

He was concerned, however, that the prolonged anti-government protests would derail the country's economic recovery, to which tourism is a major contributor.

Oh dear- looks like the entire city will be full of forum members, I'm also staying at the Hilton Sukhumvit over New Years! If the Thai politics allow for it...
