Thailand Pass & the requirement for travel insurance will no longer be required as of 1 July 2022.

A nice next step. I found TP to be simple and easy for my recent trip. But having one-less-thing to organise will be nice when next visiting.

I imagine the travel-insurance part will be of benefit to transit pax. On my recent flight to BKK... standing in the check-in queue in MELB, there were.... more than a few people hurriedly trying to purchase a travel insurance policy on their phones... before they got to the front of the line. Most were transiting through BKK and were totally unaware of the requirement... probably Thai Airways could have done a better job of pre-alerting them.

Also hearing that masks-outdoors is are no longer mandatory, which is nice in the humidity & heat.

Nearly forgot, when I went to HKT in March the requirement for a second PCR test was cancelled. Since it had been prepaid I am entitled to a refund. Remembered to apply today so expect to get the refund in 45-60 days.

Hey that's still quicker than Qantas without the fussing about.

@Hvr refund for wife/daughter was much quicker than 45 days.

Not you will lose 3% administration fee and also lose out on exchange rate as AUD is now higher.

I have received the emails telling me the refund has been processed and the refund is showing on my credit card statement. :)
