The COVID-19 vaccine rollout in Australia has begun

If special announcement happen once per week or less frequently, I doubt anyone would bother tuning in. When do you recall the last infrastructure announcement (pre-covid)? Infrastructure was the last big thing I guess. So if the NSW Premier decides to make another plea on vaccine rollout, no one is going to care.
But if she says they will have to hold back freedom day, then the public might take some notice of her call to get the jab.

How? I guess NSW will stroll it into 80% double vaxxed (of course I could be wrong) and the NSW Premier has not indicated a diversion from the Doherty model, so I'm not sure what other cards the NSW Premier has to play to get us all jabbed. Its like saying redoubling our efforts to get jabbed, what does that mean for someone who is already fully vaxxed?

I think it’s fairly simple, to be honest. And it’s been fairly well publicized. Reopen at 70% to those who are vaccinated. Those who are not don’t get the same freedoms.

Eg;

“Hey Bill, let’s go to the pub”

“Sounds good Steve”

Walk to the pub and show Service NSW app to the big scary bouncer

Sorry Bro. Steve can come in, but Bill you can’t. You’re not vaccinated cuz, go home”

Bill walks home, tail between his legs and wonders what he can do. Of course! Stop at the pharmac_ on the way home and get a vaccination.

Over 90% (90.32%) of 70+ with a first dose. The same age group should go past 70% fully vaccinated when today’s numbers are released tomorrow.

60.22% of 50+ are fully vaccinated.

90-94 has reached 90.2% with a first dose and 70.5% fully vaccinated.
80-84 has reached 70.6% fully vaccinated.

VIC 16+ should go past 65% with a first dose and 40% fully vaccinated when today’s numbers are released tomorrow.

The Vic doses today make no sense.

It shows Vic State Hubs a t 64K, whereas Vic DHHS had it at 39 K.

Also Commonwealth Channel in Vic is at 22K, whereas has been in the 40's of late.

Yep - this is pretty much it.... we have quite clear line of sight to being >80% fully vaccinated in NSW. The other <20% won't make their call now on the basis of one of the tres amigos telling them at a mid-morning stand up... They will either make a call or not on whether they play along based on what they can or can't do once NSW exceeds 70% and goes to 'Freedom Lite', or, when we exceed 80% and go to 'Freedom Lite Plus'. A few @tags on their socials from mates at the pub, their favourite vegan cafe, or a yoga retreat over in Ubud, and the rates will tick up again

To be confident of 80% fully vaccinated you'd probably want to get to about 82% first dose to allow for the possibility a small number may not go back for the second dose. NSW should get to the first dose level next week to be confident that 80% fully vaccinated will follow.

And just on the Primary Care Commonwealth Channel in Victoria the in better late than never news will add 350 or so GP Practices over the next fortnight who can dose Pfizer, and about 700 Pharmacists over the next month who can do Moderna and AZ. The Vic Gov has requested the Commonwealth to prioritise locations in the north and west of Melbourne where cases are highest and as to date the locations approved by the Commonwealth have disproportionately not been in these high case areas, and are mainly located where cases are low.

Given that Pfizer is meant to ramp up from next week, and Moderna supposedly soon as well, that is extremely late deployment given the low numbers of GP's and Pharmacists that the Commonwealth had previously deployed in Victoria.

While welcome news that more primary outlets are now belatedly being added, if they had of been added earlier they may well have helped to have had more AZ doses delivered as many people favour getting vaccinated locally.

I can also confirm some existing primary care clinics in VIC are also being offered more Pfizer by the Feds. Amazing what a little media attention can do 😂.

We are checking to see if same is on offer for QLD….

Another misinfo text from the coughweasel leader of the yellow and black party.

Is there anything I can do to publically express my disgust at such a miserable excuse for a human being?
Unfortunately, it goes a lot further. I've been off in another universe and exploring the intimidation of everyone and anyone involved in the vaccine rollout by crazies sending and handing in person the attached, poorly constructed "cease and desist" letters. What I've come to realise in visiting these echo chambers is that we definitely are not all in this together. Apparently tens of thousands of versions of these letters have been given to GP's, pharmacists, police, health workers etc etc. This particular group has almost 40,000 telegram subscribers.20210801 Cease and desist Doctors.jpg20210801 Cease and desist Doctors2.jpg

I just saw a 9 News clip saying they've heard reports of Pfizer being opened up to over 60s in October, so SA could be a few weeks or so ahead of the rest of the country in that I guess.

I guess it makes sense. We'd want the minority of the elderly holding out for Pfizer to have the opportunity to have at least one dose by the end of November.

Yes, first in Australia. We have been lagging, so this is the thing we needed amongst the silly sixties group. Don't agree they needed to be rewarded for stalling but I'm at the stage of 'let's just get this thing done.'. Bookings open Monday.

SA's 70+ has 86.87% first dose with VIC on 88.58%, so the 70+ is doing well.

For 50+ they are on 77.69% versus VIC's 82.26%. So there'd still be a number that have taken up AZ.

Yes, it's the 60-69 year Olds who have been hanging out. Not in my peer group but I know of many who waited.

Why they would want arguably an inferior vaccine especially for their age group I’m confused…. But whatever gets the all important percentage across the line I could care less if these hesi-vax-idiots get injected with saline, as long as our life gets back to normal :)
