The definitive thread on Qantas IT gripes

Fun bug I found when trying to see how many SCs left till I get to LTG, when you are on 0 SCs the home screen for your account links on how to get status (even though I am already WP), instead had to click through to points balance to get to status info. Why do they make it so hard to find

So many posts on here from Adelaide people about QF being totally eastern state centric, maybe QF decided to act on it ;):)
There could be something in what you say. I must confess, I gave up on Monday and booked through Jetstar. It was a borderline decision anyway; "save $190" v "The Jetstar Experience". Unable to book Qantas online tipped the scales in the "save $190" direction.
Anyway, returning to the fray last night, I was amused to notice that, once again, "Adelaide" was not a recognised location, however "Adl" now worked, which it hadn't on Monday. Perhaps removing Adelaide from the list is a little too blatant, so they've resorted to hiding it a little. If you don't know the airport code, tough!

When I recently booked reward flights (QF127/CX101) I didn't enter my QFF#, although I did for MrsOatek. Given this can affect baggage allowances I decided to go in through QF MMB and add it. But no amount of trying would let me put the QFF# in!! I logged into CX (carrier for the return flight), brought up CX MMB, and entered the QFF# without issue. Now it shows up in QF MMB. Go figure.....

Hi there, I'm trying to book reward flights from Sydney to Brisbane. Logged into my dad's account which is how I always book flights (but first time since new interface/website) and I'm up to passenger details and getting served this error message. My surname is the same as my dad's and I have entered my name both as it appears on driver's licence and with initials as Qantas has it on file.

Suggestions??

So I was booked to fly to Melbourne today and return on Friday, until my boss had me cancel the trip last Thursday. The corporate TA cancelled the flights, they were no longer visible in my FF account. However i got email on Monday (for the SYD-MEL) and Today (for the MEL-SYD) letting me know it was my last chance to upgrade on the cancelled flights.

So wonder why the marketing team think Im still flying when I no longer have a valid ticket?

Another (minor) frustration.
Trying to book (classic reward) DPS>MEL in J. Naturally I only get Jetstar
Look at DPS>SYD>MEL to try and get the overnight QF A330 DPS>SYD, no dice, but it shows DPS>AKL>SYD with EK450 (in F/J) and AKL>SYD QF (in J)

Why then doesn't the DPS>MEL search (same dates) return DPS>AKL>MEL with EK450 (F/J) and AKL>MEL QF (in J).

There's reward availability AKL>MEL QF J so no issues with that. Why can I tag a leg to SYD but not MEL on a reward booking?

Saw this one just now:
Same flight.... 🤨
The part that I see there is the way they will have a business fare available on the "dates' screen and then the actual fare will be only part J. Most recently searching for BNE-YVR, the resulting available business fare was "You trip from SYD - SFO will be in Economy. You trip from SFO-YVR will be in Economy". The only J part was BNE-SYD.

Would be nice if "someone" could design a passenger focus search engine.

The gripe above is that the EK225 classic award is available in First as shown by the second itinerary but not available in First according to the other itinerary. Same search, same day, same flight.

Could be worse, I like the idea of this banner

“I’m sorry those F seats are sold out......”

I get so confused so easily when I do searches like this. Get caught out all the time. The 24 hour grace period really helps.

The QF website (QFF Profile > Your bookings) seems to miss bookings that show on the app (Trips).
The last one I have visible on the website is on 21/12 but the app picks up a trip booked through Finnair, starting on 23/12. Wonder why?

This has been going on for a while, with partner airlines showing generally in the app, but often not online.

From a Qantas Point Hacks Facebook group - it's in the public domain so I haven't blocked out people's names. Qantas obviously didn't know that when you search there is a little exclamation mark that says your main flight will be in economy so I'm sure they are going to fix it now :p ;). Also note that Qantas has stopped you being able to add new comments to this post

And Qantas acts all surprised about the exclamation thing when it’s been happening for years.
