Sleep and chocolate are not overrated. I can sleep/dream in technicolor rather than black and white or sepia. I discovered that when I was in ICU coming out of being anaesthetised. Two vivid dreams......wow.

@JohnM we are just one long weekend away from the finish line. Surprisingly we have been ok with overdosing on each other’s company so far.
More deliveries from both IGA , our fruit store and some mail with the help of SIL.
i keep thinking about some red wine but not a drop so far....
One of my business partners sourced bottles for the sanitiser that his gin/vodka business is making so that was good progress today.

Day... something... update. Might be day 6 now. Need to check a calendar.

Anyway, RESPECT biggly to primary school teachers! I've done 4 days of home schooling for Mstr Scarlett (whilst Mrs Scarlett can WFH, I can't, so it's reading, writing, maths, spelling duties for me) and it's pretty non-stop just with one student. I don't know how they do it for a class of 20-odd?

I'm keeping up the cafe breakfast for the family each morning for morale: soft boiled eggs, toast, leaf tea and a hot cross bun today. With a little pepper and salt, soft boiled eggs are brilliant.
Bacon, scrambled, haloumi and wilted spinach tomorrow.

Oh, and we made a chocolate cake today as part of the maths lesson. It's good!

Keep safe all.

Ok so it is the middle of the night and I am awake. The $AUD is up and the US stock market is down. Have read the humour thread so thanks for that.
Turns out my family sees us olds as a bit of a train wreck health wise and don’t want us going out from our home. We are thinking about that.
Our May Maldives trip and the 2020 Japan Olympics plan are off.
That May Maldives trip was to be a birthday trip for Mrscove.
Not long to go for our 14 day isolation to end but our younger family members are thinking we could do a further several months at home.........

I have 4 days to go, but am going to stretch that out for a couple more, maybe another week ... I've got used to being waited on by the neighbours, baked goods, getting grocery and pharmac_ etc deliveries. Knowing I'm not going to have 'drop in' visitors, so the cleaning can be put off, wearing black trakkie daks all the time saves some washing.

Mine has finished however I think it will make minimal difference to how we are currently living .
Though I will try and get the current flu shot but that is probable it for now

Day 11 - working on the "balcony marathon" - 20m balcony so if 2*20m = 1 lap then a marathon is about 1050 laps - aim to finish in a couple of days. Achieving 6k's per hour according to my Apple Watch.

We have the back door open going onto our courtyard (we live in a townhouse )
I was at the back door wondering what was wrong. It took a full minute to work out it was lack of noise
No traffic (unimaginable I live in a busy suburb)
No planes
No engines of plane e.g. flying doctor or private planes
No voices :(

It is odd

Day 8/14 now, it's not actually been too bad, here's my boring update 😆

Working from home is fine, I usually do a couple of days a week rather than entire blocks, but the transition has been fine (it helps that our entire organisation has transitioned to home working this week). Luckily someone in the office couriered my laptop to me, I went straight from work to the airport a few weeks ago, thinking I'll be back in a few days. Ironically I thought it'd be more convenient to leave my laptop in the office there than locked in my car at MEL. That said, the only thing I can't do with my MacBook is book leave, which strangely enough I won't need to do for a while.

Food and supplies in general are fine, my sister was supposed to be coming back to Australia with me so I bought loads before I left (not bulk buying, so it's pure luck I'm stocked up). She lives in the UK, so went straight back there when I came home. There's gin in the pantry, so I'm good for essentials even when the food runs out.

I have an OK sized garden so outdoor time is still possible (sadly it's been dealing with the neglect since I've been overseas, rather than actually enjoying it, but I'm glad of anything at the moment). Fully expecting that there'll be nothing left in the outside world once I get to day 14, but at least I'll be able to reassess the situation in terms of groceries etc. - plus side of this is that I'm spending very little money, no shopping, no petrol, no entertainment/eating out/pubs, etc..

Have worn various airline pyjamas pretty much constantly for the last week, my repertoire so far has consisted of VA J, QF F, QR J in various combos to mix it up. Coming up maybe EK F, BA F and QF J if I miss the giant kangaroo too much. Plenty of hand sanitiser from old amenity kits, and hotel disposables mean I'll never run out of shower gel, shampoo and conditioner. Shanghai Tang is a staple in our house right now, since I used up all the Ferregamo stuff I'd accumulated from IC Hong Kong.

Hope everyone's going well!

Nearing the end of day 1 and I'm feeling a bit of angst towards Mrs FB. I know I shouldn't, but emotions and all that. I just want to step outside the door, go for a walk.

It stems back to me not liking being told what to do.... I feel it's going to be hard to stay strong on this one.

Hang in there. MrSuze and I went through a rough patch but now we have stopped bickering and are just enjoying each other's company. I know that your marriage is not in a healthy state, but even when you dislike someone eventually you find a way to coexist.

It’s day 11 here. I’ve done all the cooking and am back to focusing on craft. Had the good news that one of my cousins is pregnant at age 41 so at least there is something to look forward to. Though it will mean an adjustment to my knitting plans. Looking forward to my release now!

My family told me that two weeks ago which is why I suggested that you won't find it much different when you are out on parole! I'm already doing what you've been doing.

Having the trumpeter and some finger food tonight, so I thought a complete chlorinated sanitiser bath was needed. 😊

A shackie a few doors down has come up; several families As far as I can tell, seven of them, including 3 kids, in 3 caravans on their block. I think I’ll leave them be when I’m ‘free’.

Day 13 😊

Almost ready to get excited, complling a large shopping list...

Yes, really noticing the quiet, no tourists, negligible aircraft. This is Queensland airspace right now...
