Does anyone know if Virgin will be releasing a special offer to join the lounge before the price increase *or* if AFF has negotiated a Corporate deal for us?

There have been discussions with regard to an AFF Corporate deal.

If and when this might come to fruition is something we do not know as yet.

Sorry if this has been covered (it's a long thread and I didn't go through it completely) but what happens to silver members who were paid up Lounge members who have then qualified for gold?
My Lounge membership expires Dec 7, but I qualified for gold yesterday. Do I get a credit on the time from now until December 7? My account still says Lounge membership expires Dec 7, but gold status expires July 26 2012, meaning I have paid for 4 months Lounge membership that I have now acquired as gold anyway.

I believe an Auth. Rep had confirmed a credit is due.

You're right. I just got an email saying I have an $83 refund, but it doesn't say whether it's a credit for future renewals or whether it's a monetary refund?
