QF1 SYD-DXB VH-OQJ "Bert Hinkler" on her way about 10 minutes ago. As a regular in the FL however 70% of the time headed across the ditch I'm always super excited to see the QF 388 heading off, wishing I was on board.

OK, these may not be civvy aircraft, but last week I was at the Planes of Fame Air Show at Chino in California. Awesome event and well worth attending if you love old (and new) warbirds!

Really great photos FlyboyAl
I totally agree with you, these are absolutely awesome pictures right up to the highest professional standards.
Please tell how you managed to get these shots particularly the ones taken at flight level. Were you in a bird yourself?

The "flight level" shots were taken from the ground!
The show was at Chino airport, north of Los Angeles, near San Bernardino, and I had passes to the 150 seat grand stand. These shots were taken from the top back of the stand of the aircraft flying past at about 100 feet or less. A 200-600 zomm helped to get into the coughpit!
Here are some sunrise shots on the Saturday.cPOF_0376.jpgcPOF_0382.jpgcPOF_0388.jpgcPOF_0407.jpgcPOF_0414.jpg

And a few more. The sunrise photo shoot meant being at the field at 5.30am with about 70 other photographers.

More to come later. The B25 should put you into the coughpit!

This must be some camera and a top grade tripod I guess.

Flying upside down at 100 feet? Insane!

No tripod - all handheld. Shuuterspeed around 1/4000th to stop the movement.
I'll put some more up later with an upside down plane 25 feet above the runway!!!!!!!
