The Planespotting/General AV Geek Thread

Here's an interesting plane. We had a Cubana Air flight from Cancun to Havana and drove out in buses to find a black unmarked plane with absolutely no letters anywhere, just that symbol on the tail. It looked exactly like I would imagine a CIA plane or Russian villains plane would look. 01436115169.jpg 01436115190.jpg
Can anyone identify it?
Inside there were no airline markings or magazines. The safety card looked like this

This really broke up the monotony of recent plane spotting; in BKK last night a Rossiya Il96-300, which was most likely a chartered flight. Really like the different style, but picked it up because the tail was the way the tail was more inclined than an Airbus or Boeing

Russian State Transport, generally used for delegations or ministerial visits. maybe Vladimir was in town?

Great Pics Leadman. Russian planes seem to have tail fins which slope back more that western aircraft. The Anatov freighter is an example, perhaps it makes them go faster? The Il96-300 is comparable to the A330 with a similar seating capacity and take off weight. The difference is that the total number of Il96 planes built is 15 whereas the figure for the A330 is well over one thousand.
