Emirates PNR is not accepted there. Presumably it's not amadeus.

Qatar QR MMB accepts e-ticket number. That may show other info.

Amazing tip. This worked and gave me the PNR.

I've seen a few airlines accept e-ticket numbers, but they've always required a ticket issued by themselves. Looks like Qatar allows freeform e-ticket numbers, which is great.

I used to fly quite a bit before Covid and Qantas has extended my Gold status until Nov 30 2022 - which is my anniversary date.
I am doing a Round the World flight using Qantas Frequent Flyers starting 8 Dec 2022. Do you know if:

1. If you start to fly before your end date eg. I move my flight from 8 Dec to 29th Nov, would this mean that if all my flights are ticketed under the one booking code, would I be able to have lounge access,etc during my flight if I were to fly before my Gold status goes back to Silver?

2. Is there anyway to get Qantas to move the anniversary date by a few weeks or somehow extend my gold status at all for a couple of weeks? I have been gold for 4 years and now when I plan to go on a world trip with the family it will expire 8 days before departure.

1. You will only have lounge access for the flights in the itinerary where you are still Gold.
29th November fine, you might get a leeway of a day or two after 1st Dec until you drop to Silver.
2. Unfortunately it’s not possible to move your anniversary date.

But if I search same dates, same destination but from Sydney instead of Canberra, there's about 10 times more availability. Why is that, and if I searched from Sydney, how do I then add a connecting flight from Canberra to get there?

For some reason, Qantas won't show such a routing with the regular search, but if I do a multi-city search of Missoula to Seattle then Seattle to Newark, a routing with Alaska handling the first part and American handling the SEA to EWR (albeit via Chicago) comes up.

If I do book this itinerary, will it be one ticket (ie. bags checked through to Newark)? Or will I need to leave airside at Seattle, get bags, and check in again for the American legs to Newark?

Are you searching for premium cabin seats (like Business Class) or Economy?

While QF have a bunch of CBR-SYD flights, most are on Dash8's and I suspect QF is not opening a lot up there, plus there's no Business Cabin so those would not show if looking for a premium cabin reward.

yes, it will be one ticket across both airlines and all 3 flights. Multi city tool is just a tool to build a booking.

So yes, bags through checked and BP's all issued together when you check in. No need to do anything in SEA (or ORD)

that's an option, or potentially search CBR-NYC using flexible with dates for all flights option (ie: CBR-SYD. SYD-JFK) option, which should bring up the calendar view, then select Business class to bring up any options, which could bring up options with "Your flight from Canberra to Sydney will be in Economy" options.

Now I searched briefly Nov and Dec and only could find Premium Economy to get to New York, but it did give me an option for 132,800 points (plus $234) using QF/JL:



The other thought that occurs is that you might want to search on CBR-SYD (or MEL) for the day before given US flights tend to leave in the a.m. in general so that only leaves the first flight or two of the day for reasonable connections (as above).

There is also the 717 that do not have a J cabin, both these by QFlink, sometimes its deep into the search process that you see, "the selected cabin is available on this flight".
Sometimes the prices that QF charge do not reflect that there are no J seat options on certain CBR to SYD flights.
Looks right now they are price gouging, SYD - AKL is asking for $2000 odd the week before Christmas this year, never seen it so high.

CBR - SYD - AKL, asking for $2335 business flex.
The first flight is a Dash8 without a J cabin, other flights during the day, with the 717 (with a J cabin this one), is also $2335, but at the least you have a J cabin, QF J lounge access in CBR, and enough baggage allowance without restriction of size, as is on the Dash8.
If no J cabin, for the Dash8, QF should reduce the fare for that linage flight.

thanks for this. I don't mind doing the Canberra-Syd leg in economy, to connect with an international flight from Syd. It's just frustrating, when I'm searching for international reward flights, if the non-availability of a business class reward flight in the CAN-SYD leg is what prevents business reward flight availability from showing up at all.

I haven't done it, but supposedly it can be done in the lounge, if you have access.
At the gate if you don't have lounge access, its too troublesome to do in the short time you have at the gate.
But would wait for the others, its quite late in the day.

You can. You'd have to change the FF# in the booking after the first leg. You could do this by using Manage My Booking after the first leg.

If however you wish to change in the middle of a trip, so for example you were checked in for MEL-ADL-PER, and you wanted ADL-PER to credit to a different program (but you'd already checked in for both sectors) you'd need an agent to change the FF# before you boarded the second flight.

for AKL-SYD return, just change the number in the booking prior to check in for the return sector. No problem.
