OK to follow Flashware I will be a fool for 5 minutes. We have been given 2 bottles of South African Sparkling wine which I am told is pretty good.So has anyone taken a bottle of bubbly on a ~ 15 hour flight in checked baggage. Will the shake, rattle and roll pop it's cork so all our clothes smell of wine or can it make it?

It can be an issue. If it is a screw top or has a cage its unlikely to come undone - but you may have to rest it for a quite a while on arrival. I took a bottle of moet through several domestic indian flights... arrived in one piece and was put immediately into the fridge. Two days later the cork popped out immediately I took the cage off - I didn't even touch the cork - so plenty of built up pressure in there...

Early 90's after a great visit to Epernay we purchased two bottles of Dom Perignon to take home. As we were at the start of a 8 week trip we carried those bubbles around Europe for about 6 weeks....many flights during the course of the trip & they travelled ok with no visible evidence of spoilage.

I say no visible evidence - as we never got the opportunity to taste.......some scumbag broke into our house a few years later & stole them along with a bunch of other things:evil:

Back from the Dawn Service and gunfire breakfast with several tots of Bundy. Then off to the March and start over again....it's going to be a long day

Had a flyover by a Albatros L-39C at our small country town ceremony at 11am. The flyover is a great tradition done by a local Rod Hall who also operates Jet Fighter Adventure

Just did my calculations for the year, and after 3 years of circa 1500-1850 SC earn, it looks like some ORC and upcoming JASAs will get me pretty close to 2400SCs for the year......

Some Y flights and perhaps a JASA home from the Mid-year do will put me at 2385 SCs.......

No doubt Team Brisbane will be able to tempt me to fly the extra 15 SC before September ;)

Just saw the snippet on the Villers-Bretonneux dawn service on channel 7 news. Makes me want to go back there. Again. So easy to spend some time in Reims/Epernay and Villers-Bretonneux. ;) And we now find it really easy to drive around Amiens/Villers-Bretonneux, except for the one-way streets last time we stayed in Amiens!

My grandfather fought in Villers-Bretonneux then later served in the war graves repatriation. He died before I was born, in his forties as his health suffered from his war service. He had five brothers and they all served in WW1. He was 17 when he left for the war.

Lest we forget.

I am at work today and it does feel like a Monday.

Yesterday I got together with my cousins and other family members to spread our grandmothers ashes at sea.

As I was heading off to Perth in the next few weeks I thought to hurry things up set a date, yesterday was a nice day, but everyone at the boat ramp thought it was a good ideas as well to go down to the bay.

I cannot believe Telstra. Our advertised Business number is a redirected number which switches to hidden numbers. This has been our number for 13 years. Today I tried ringing this number and it rang through. Did not connect to the redirected number. Rang Telstra and apparently after 12 months, they simply cancel the redirection. No warning. No message. Contacted Telstra. The damn number has already been allocated to someone else! WTF! They are trying to get it back. In the meantime, no one can call our Business. To say I am furious does not not even close to it.

Ahh, Major Rip Van Winkle, welcome to 2021. I had wondered why you stopped posting back in 2013.

Not sure what time I left the RSL but if you had told me it was 2021, I would have believed you

Well I've had a productive couple of days. Got about 15% back on the foxtel memory and cleaned out all my saved shows. Just last weeks rugby to watch and record to the computer.

I thought numbers were not reallocated for a number of years?
