Photos, no - not if they're stored on the SD card - however when I do a factory reset, I do a full backup of the phone anyway. SMS, maybe. Contacts.. they should be synced with Gmail?

I turned off syncing contacts with Google, mainly because every time I send an email with Gmail, it adds a contact automatically (for some odd reason). So I end up with a lot of junk and/or orphaned contacts that I don't want on my phone, which is a PITA when trying to scroll effectively through lists.

I do regular manual backups of my data on the fixed drive, but I'm still looking out for a good app/desktop application combo that can do backup/restore without needing to root the device.

How about https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tfl.tbp&hl=en - does the backup into Dropbox.

And a welcome back from Optus as well.

Does the mobile broadband connection really need to drop out that often?

A quick observation, CHC airport is one of the best around. The Koru club there is awesome too. Nice work kiwis.

Just got bumped to J for SIN to BNE second time this week, first on EK, love school holidays!

Well done!. Since becoming WP most of my flights have been in J where it was the highest class on the flight.. Still waiting for an op up opportunity let alone an actual op up.

She called home quickly from FCO when I was leaving SIN last night. She would not know all the details of flights but apparently told dad that someone eventually helped her in FCO.

Looking at email of updated itinerary apparently spent ~8 hours in FCO airport yesterday then sent off to MUC for another ~3 hour transit. Then off to BKK overnight on TG and she should have just arrived in BKK now where she has another ~6 hour transit and should arrive in SYD early tomorrow morning.

I do not need to know details but I can tell she has been suffering. That is 2 overnight flights and 2 very long transits in airports for a 70 year old with health issues.

By the time she arrives home it will have been ~48 hours of travel. She cannot sleep on aircraft so she is going to be a mess when she gets home tomorrow.

Sending her business class was supposed to be a treat and it has turned into a nightmare and I am powerless to do anything about it. :(

That's rough. At least she is on her way home and can rest/recover in her own bed.

I must admit I worry more when my parents travel.

Yep its horrible when things are going wrong but are completely out of your control.

Nice ... unfortunately I am unlikely to receive the same QF-love for my return home later in the week, so my 15 hours of comfort will cost me 72K QFF points. Enjoy the flight home.

You never know, can't believe I got two in the space of four days SIN BNE, makes for a good comparison between QF52 and EK432, will do a trip report, chalk and cheese in so many ways and not always preferring the one flight. 355 on board tonight, the crew worked hard!

Did I read somewhere in the last few days about a VA Business sale with a code for 15% off. All I (think) I recall that it finishes tonight though.

Am I dreaming or not?

Anyone.

Now at the 6 week mark in the west and the good news the furniture turned up, and after a 2nd phone call to Telstra the internet is now working. :D

Also good news Woolworths sent me an offer for $50 and get 200 points, so I walked to Woolworths which is in the other direction to Coles and filled up the fridge.

What I can't find though is those rice containers, a few years ago I brought my first lot of rice in a container, and now I can't find any rice in a container; they are all in those plastic bags so when you open it up you then have to find a container to store the rice in, which I don't have. CSR sell castor sugar in the container I am looking for but I can't find rice for sale in any container, maybe if you find one in the East you could post it to me.

Also rather cold in the West, the last 2 days Perth had the coldest night time minimum of any state capital including Hobart, the heater has been working overtime this week.

Also was considering buying one of those Bose Wave music systems, partly because my current place has power points in the wrong place, but I think $799 AUD for a new digital clock radio with CD is just a bit much when I can buy a cheap clock radio from Woolworths for $16.00, with the saved $783.00 I can afford to buy some more plane tickets, or afford 2 weeks rent.

We do have them here, BB - Mrs Jukebox keeps an assortment of flour in four of them in our pantry. So it must be Sunlong/Sungold/Sun-whatever... if you dont see them in Coles, try Woolworths or vice versa... IGA as a last resort.

The weather this week is sort of typical WA of recent years - we have another six or so weeks, but my mid September will be in solid spring.

She is a tough woman and she was so happy the other night she was coming home. She is going to be a mess and I am guessing she will not have slept for 2 nights either and little sleep the night before as well as she went to airport early.

My flight is due to depart at 7:35am this morning and she is due to arrive at 7:20am. This will be the first time that I have not taken her to the airport or picked her up from the airport on her return.

I feel responsible.

There is a guy in the BA MAN lounge committing all sorts of sins.
Biggest one is having a Skype conversation that is so loud you can hear it at the other end of the lounge.

Thanks to an idiot tram driver my mother had a fall. Hopefully it isn't serious.

Not negating the seriousness of your mother's fall but why was it the tram driver's fault? What about the idiot car driver who drove in front of them and forced them to stop suddenly?

As someone who has driven buses (many, many years ago) in heavy traffic I can assure you we never liked hitting the brakes hard but sometimes you were forced to because of stupid cars drivers who didn't take care.

Also, your mother should report the accident to the TAC in case of further complications.
