And that's why we don't have left on red.

Had to get a bit used to this recently when I was in Texas, but oddly enough in a place where everyone's got a huge vehicle, Texans are pretty good at making sure if they make a right on a red, they check for pedestrians, even those that haven't quite started walking across yet.

As mentioned it is legal where signed. Just we don't see many of the signs.

Looking for Pedestrians wasn't so much the problem in the case I cited more the cars travelling along the cross road that had a green light. :o

The amount of intersections in NSW that has those turn left on red signs are very very small.

Caught up with very close friends to have a joint 10th wedding anniversary weekend (alas, with our combined 5 kids). Some here will enjoy our Saturday night beverages:

Pre-dinner (after 7pm)

With dinner (risotto with sautéed chicken & roasted pine nuts):

The St Henri still had a lot of body and was a delight to drink after careful decanting.

Life is too short not to enjoy times with good friends - and seeing children fall asleep by 7pm after all day running around, swimming, biking/scootering :D

You should post a bit of info on the thread I started about wine you have enjoyed....

There is one natural issue with such a thread, one can enjoy a wine to the extent that one cannot remember why the next day, of course at AFF we encourage responsible enjoyment of alcohol..........

Right in the middle of it.. Heavy rain, great light show.. Best rain for quite sometime and across a large area. Hopefully north and western droughts areas get some sooner rather than later

You make it sound like it is unusual to have unsettled weather in Queensland.

I must be living in a different Queensland to you for the past 5+ years....

 Tank is nearly dry and the grass/garden needs a decent drink.......love a QLD evening downpour!

Glad I was on QF542 this evening. It was late however, looking at the radar I'm sure later flights are going to cop it worse.

I am off for a drive in the Otways tomorrow. Tracks might be a bit slippery.

Nice place .... used to live in Apollo Bay
Paradise by the sea !
Driving was really the only way out of there. My passengers vomited due to motion sickness caused by very winding roads.

And yes, I do have a GPS. I will try not to get lost. :)

I got lost at least 7 times. Lost count. Everytime I felt lost I would stop the car and start cursing and screaming.

It worked each time.

Those Google maps instructions are hopeless and the street signs in Melbourne are not much better.

Why does there have to be a sign for Citylink every 500 metres? And then some lanes have TOLL on them well before the actual entrance to Citylink. I was looking for Toorak Road and got lost a couple of times trying to avoid Citylink. Somehow ended up on Park Street by accident and then on Toorak Road. Turned the wrong way but then realised where I needed to be. Have no idea how that happened as I had no idea where I was at the time and was trying to find St Kilda Rd.

Trying to get to Goonawarra Golf course was even worse. Google mentions to go through 4 roundabouts and Goonawarra is the 5th roundabout. Wrong. As there are now 5 roundabouts. And when you are supposed to turn onto Francis Boulevard it mentions to drive 950m and then turn around and drive another 850m. Hmmm. The entrance was just there. I didn't see the fine print.

And there are some intersections that have it that should not. There is one I drive by that has a near miss just about everyday.

The new roundabout at Lancefield Rd is over a year old. Looks like Google didn't get the memo.
