drross, jetlagger and amaroo, have to agree - lovely to see a light show and decent rain, all the plants and grass are having a decent drink (grass was looking decidedly brown) and importantly, the tank will be full by now (still raining solidly now in mid northern suburbs).

And now the grass will be growing by the time I get home ... and only a few days to mow it before heading out again.

Was edrenched visiting MEL today. It was like the tropical downpours in SYD & BRI.
Luckily I was able to get some free drinks at Crown this evening waiting for rain to ease.
Rainfall area earlier this evening was stretching from the Grampians across Melbourne and suburbs, West/East/Northern Gippsland across the rages up pat Canberra - was bigger than Tassie!

I've lived in Melbourne all my life, and the GPS in my car manages to confuse me quite often. And don't mention Mr Google....has anyone ever seriously tried (refer JohnK) to make a comment about an error? I found that task impossible. They should have bought the Melways directory outright, and slung that into their search engine (I think it's the best laid out directory). What GPS brands have fellow FFers found work well?

Empty water tank Sunday...full water tank Tuesday :D

You make it sound like it is unusual to have unsettled weather in Queensland.

I must be living in a different Queensland to you for the past 5+ years....

Not at all, its a welcome change to the last few weeks as subsequent posts attested, variety is the spice and indeed the source of life, only the deserts and the polar regions have more stable weather patterns, strangely they are devoid of human life but your welcome to move there if you feel it might be more suitable for you.

My 4 year old (with updates) Tom Tom does very well everywhere except Disney World where it knew too much and tried to send us down staff roads.

I have a TomTom. Whilst not perfect I would rate it at 9/10. Don't use it a lot here in Adelaide (nobody gets lost in Adelaide) but it comes in handy on our annual 3/4 week road trip. Did think it was giving some strange directions at first but then it dawned on me that TomTom was often taking me on a route that would place me on the corect side of the road for the address entered.

When I was driving around the US in 2009, the Navlady suggested I turn left into a river in DC.

The American unit didn't have Canadian maps loaded so as soon as I crossed the border, the map was grey & said "Go to nearest road" even though I was driving down Canadian Highway 1.

And in Iceland the unit had the car swimming when we were in a tunnel under said water.
Then had no knowledge of a road the locals said opened at least 2 years previously.

Is that a Maharaja in your pouch Air India?

...or are we just happy to see Air India? :o

Better than trying to charm a kangaroo out of a pot.

Looks like it's finally happening, then. Thought AI would never pull its finger out of its behind on this; too bad they were not so sharp to jump on the Star Alliance.

Don't keep up with the forums for a day or ten, and this thread is almost a hundred pages longer... We're a mighty off topic bunch aren't we?

Its been happening for a while, say the 787 at Sydney Saturday and I think its over two weeks they have been doing it.
