And there's me with very very basic high school science in the mid 60's - a triumph of useless information such as a) growing ikky stuff from a boy's fingernails in petri dishes (the science master's method of stopping him biting his nails. Totally gross); b) how high you can get the flame from a bunsen burner to go if you leave it a while before lighting; and how to get a stink bomb into the school's ventilation system while teacher out of room. Learning to undo the grating at warp speed also required. However I did go on to be a prefect and girl's school captain so maybe the education was not entirely wasted.

The thing I hated about science in high school was the fact that if we did an experiment, we never compared notes to see why Wayne caused an explosion but nothing happened for Erk.

I also hated that I did biology in year 11 & I thought it was going to be about human biology at some point. We just spent all year talking about plants. Boring. I think I failed & could not wait to drop it for year 12.

I feel sorry for anyone who sat near me DXB-MEL recently; have a hell of a cold which meant a lot of coughing. Can't be helped sometimes, though I certainly make an effort not to snort :shock:

Don't know quite where to put this but I was in David Jones today and the Electronics dept is now being run by Dick Smith.
I was pricing up QC 20's and the assistant (gorgeous but useless) stated that they would be concentrating more on the home office and might not stock Bose anymore
Probably of no great loss to those travelling to the LOTFAP but it was very handy when DJ's had their sales on and an international trip was near.

A pity. I loathe having such concessions in dept stores. It creates demarcation lines about who does and knows things, and the customer suffers.
