It all depends. Mainly it has to do with luck, right place at the right time, but also status plays a part in who gets any op-ups. Most times Qantas will not hand out op-ups just for the sake of handing out op-ups.Anyway, my question is, if you pay for a business class seat, what are the chances of being bumped up to first?
I understood that sometimes they will bump a paying pax up a class to make more room in the lower class....anyone able to help out with an answer on that?
Nup,
only those with "status" get to select from those seats online.
I'd go for 1F if available - great views of Mt Taranaki as you head down the island ... maybe even better as the sun starts to set ... (no snow but)
I later checked the QF website and it seems that the bag drop time limit is 30 minutes before departure time, not 45 minutes.
Well it's now approaching midnight and the outside temp has fallen to approx 26deg outside and 32deg inside the house :!:
Top today was 43.2deg.

My car was saying 45deg but that's not quit as official. It was showing 45 deg yesterday as we taxied out. It dropped to 40deg at 500 ft :!:43.2?? That all??
45.1 in Melbourne (although at 24 at the moment....)
Great state Victoria - falls to bits when there is a bit of warmth!

Errr yesterday I checked in online for my flights SYD-MEL-HBA-MEL-SYD which are for today BUT I woke up and decided not to fly
I had 3x calls at 550am (which is 10minutes before the 1st flight out) which I assume was QF trying to find where the heck I am?
What a way to blow away $145 and the opportunity to earn 40sc and 4000 qffp. Ahhh never mind, that's my gamble gone not in my favour.
