Did anyone watch the 60 minutes story or are they watching it now

Another day, another successful roast pork leg. Moist flesh, juicy and a wonderful rich reduction (finished with red wine) to go with it...

...except we cheated on the crackling skin. Mum bought a few legs today and we only roasted one, but cut off the skin from the other legs and roasted them alongside.

Ironically, the skin which we had added to the roasting leg crackled beautifully, whilst the skin on the roasting leg remained flaccid without so much as a bit of crackling.

I still don't like our biased oven. I guess you learn to live with it, just like your most despised teacher at school.

We have some friends over from Ireland (including the little ones) - you'd know who ;) Going to do a roast tonight and given the meateaters out-do the vegetarians (5v1 :D) I shall be doing one today. Been a long time..... let's hope I don't muck it up!!

What kind of meat are you roasting?

The veggo in the house will not be quite happy - especially if it means cleaning the oven (you know, to get rid of any meat traces and have a neutral oven again) :) Better get some tofu or tempe on :p (just kidding - don't ask me about good vegetarian food - I only know Mexican, Italian and Greek....)

The key to a good roast is basically not overcooking it... and resting is very important. I insisted on resting the meat and I've gotten at least a good result every time.

Whatever Waitrose has for a good price when I head down in a bit ;)

Had a shocker of a round down at Devilbend this afternoon. At least it was a nice day out.
We could only manage par off the stick at Eagle Ridge Ambrose (H'cap of 10) - missed by 2⅛ Nett.

But, indeed a lovely day ...

What was it about? If interesting I may watch it on line.

The long and the short of it was that the air being recirculated in the cabin has traces of a chemical in it that can harm/injure you when breathing it in.

OK. I have no idea what you are talking about here. A young man has died and it isn't a joke.

Interpretation of the "four kinds of messages" in respective order:

1. "RIP": standard, needs no explanation.
2. "How ironic" The person who died was an actor in a series of movies involving fast cars (very fast cars). His death also involved a car.
3. "It was a hoax": likely a meme-like jocular or line (a bit like AFF firing off, "I blame Jetstar" as a response to many things) latching on a recent spotty trend of people and media claiming certain celebrities have died but in fact has been proven to be hoaxes (though in this case, of course, it is no hoax).
4. "Who": those who haven't watched said movies probably asked this, and we all know that we're a little bit too proud to look up Google or Wikipedia to work out who it is if the name doesn't ring a bell.

All in all, no jokes intended there in any of the four kinds of posts. If any of them could be considered offensive at all, #3 might be the closest, and #2 might just register a tiny blip on the radar.

So I won 11 double passes to the Taylor Swift Concert in Melbourne... Ebay here we come!

And how did you happen to become so fortunate (or unfortunate?).

I take it you have no daughters or friends with daughters or their friends... (not that you could sell it to them or what not, but rather if they knew then you might just be a hunted man. Then again, there's a marked difference between 11 double passes for Taylor Swift, that for Justin Beiber and that for One Direction).

Oy vey. I've made the same typing mistake so many times my keyboard has added the mistake to my dictionary! Argh!!! :(

I will use a couple of the tickets. My Niece went berserk went she heard she was going!

IGA had a very easy comp, where all you had to do was purchase one of the worlds best selling soft drink (or one of its stable mates). So I purchased a few separate bottles but entered under a few family members. Low and behold I won a few times and then won again in the second chance draw.

Were they more specific than "a chemical"? I recycling of the fuel vapours can kill story that's been around for years.

There's thousands of chemicals in air that can harm us.

I missed some of the story due to little Miss Simo and going to bed time.

It was something to do with a lubricant that has been used and can leak into the air system.

Probably to get more context on the post, as it stands it reads as being in poor taste.

Reporting what other people are writing is poor taste? And if there is a lack of understanding why attack someone.

The reference to Max Walkers brother passing away is not what others were writing.

If that was the sole content of the post this bizarre attack might have some relevance. Again if you don't understand something I question attacking someone over it instead of seeking clarification.
