Golf sucks up a lot of time. Hours on end. Maybe find a physical activity that doesn't take several hours?

Yes it does! Got my handicap down to 6/7 when I was 15.......it was all - golf, golf, golf. Got my licence and have never looked back.

These days I'm a 46 - once a year hacker that can still knock out a round in the 80's - in a good year:D

Also played Cricket......another sucker of time!

Hah! Remarkably similar here - played off 10 for 13 & 14 y.o. championships ( both won) but now count my rounds by the number of balls I lose! :(:oops:

I was taught by Bren Alman, Mackay Golf Club. Went to golf camp at Bowen and played junior tournaments in the region and FNQ including the Islands in the Whitsunday's........great times. The first flight I can recall being on was a small plane going to a golf weekend to one of the islands in the 70's.
 
This may have been better posted in the Birthdays thread but I'm not sure if he's an AFF member or not.
Happy Birthday anyway - wonder if there's anything he needs?

Can't remember the name of the pro but played at Ingham in the early 70s ( course in the centre of the race track...)

Tomorrow I'll be going food shopping with a big list of things to try in it. I've only had steak & chips with it so far but looking forward to some other things too.
