Which overpaid clown thought of those phrases?
Ha. I can beat you. Some idiot journo in last week's Melbourne 'Hun" referred to a substantial 'uptick' in numbers...when I emailed him (mark me down as a pedantic grammar-loving old fogey) he advised that it was a real word, albeit the dictionary noted it was American English......and therefore he said it could be included in the Australian vernancular. Honestly, the mind boggles. Well mine does.

There are lots of words used today that I didn't think existed.
