Sitting in SPN lounge delayed 45mm so far with no eta for my flight to ICN. 75min connection to HKG is looking a little tight.

Never been in this situation before. I assume OZ will somehow get to HKG tonight in J? There is one flight after the one I'm meant to be connecting to.

I think I'm looking at Markis10 at the BNE loop rd, I'm too scared to approach the guy and ask him though!

I assume OZ will protect you, even if that means hotel for the night and first flight next day. They should be good for it, especially as you're misconnecting on their home ground.

Your hotel in HKG, if applicable, is another issue. You'll likely have to get in contact if you're not going to make it tonight; travel insurance might also need to get involved.

Thanks for that.

If I can get out of SPN tonight I'll be happy. Got travel insurance so hopefully that covers the accommodation costs. Would much rather overnight at ICN than SPN!

And then the fight was canceled. No back at hotel with an incoming aircraft apparently. Told being picked up at 0130.

Time to get hold of asiana and reroute so I don't miss the remainder of my trip.

My grandma turns 90 tomorrow. Not bad for someone who almost died 18 months ago after a bump to the head and a brain bleed. She's received a nice certificate in the mail from the government which will give her a smile. Currently baking chocolate cake for her :D

Happy birthday to your grandma!
What was the certificate for and how did you organise it?
I' m supposed to organise something for my mum but they require a sheaf of paperwork I don't have.

We didn't do anything, it just turned up. It congratulates her on making 90. She also got a Cellarmasters offer from Commbank but that's a whole other kettle of fish...

There must be two of me (scary thought) since at that time I was doing the very important task of lego with my son at Kangaroo Point .

I've been waiting for ~36hrs for QF flights to ticket, I can't recall waiting this long previously. Is this length of time unusual ?

Hippity hoppity Easter Bunny duties mostly done. Just waiting for Mr Katie to return with the Humpty Dumpty egg from the Confectionary Warehouse.

Yeah, I've asked our IT external consultants to do this, numerous times. And they come back with all the usual security blah blah nonsense but it would save a lot of issues. I'll try again. :p

Hmmmm... I was thinking you all did this in-house. Right.

I can see where the IT guys might be hesitant to do this. They can't exactly make you absolve them of any problems due to security risks if it so happens that a security update which was delayed in installation brings down your server.

Alternatively, I'm sure there's also a way to delay installation of updates (or automatic installation of updates) until a certain time, e.g. 1am in the morning. Of course, if you run a 24/7 business where the server is expected to be up at almost all times of the day, that could still be a cause of issues.

Sounds like you need a new IT Consultant ... it's not best practise at all to leave updates going automatically, they should be vetted first before being applied ... I take it also they're not ITIL aligned then and using change management ;)

Yeppers. But small business IT and corporate IT are different kettles of fish.

And interestingly I see the security posture of many companies daily - both massive enterprises and small businesses. Even big business doesn't get it right ;)

Easter Bunny isn't quite as exciting as the man in the red suit. Woken at 6 to go hunting in the yard, as Little Miss didn't see the chocolatey offerings on the kitchen bench.
Or maybe it's also due to dawn in April be Dec?? ;)

Arrived in ICN this morning...about 12 hours after I was meant to be thus missing HKG stop over.

Asiana gave me 90usd in vouchers for the delay but no idea how I use them??

Really wish there was some easter eggs in the lounge...noodle soup just won't cut it. :p

Was not feeling at all well last night - so went to bed early (7pm), sans dinner, with a bad headache and nausea, for a short nap - leaving Masters 14,12 and Miss 7 playing quietly amongst themselves. At 9:30pm woke to see Miss had taken herself to bed with help from Master 12 (what a trooper!), and the lads still engrossed in gameplay. Went back to bed.

Woken up by a noise at 1:42am... at first I thought it was Master 14's "sleeping music" on too loud, but when I went to investigate, I remembered what day it was..

I'm pretty sure it was the Easter Bunny: The back yard was covered in foil-wrapped "deposits"!

(just as well the lad likes his music too loud - if I had slept through, that would have been another illusion for Miss 7 shattered )

Happy Easter everyone!
