Yesterday we re-loaded the olds 4.5 Litre Chivas Regal bottle seeing it is winter in Perth. Used a funnel and it was easy. Father in law is 92 and got pretty excited.
Knowing the value of things we bought 8 700 ml bottles and used starthere and Woolies Wish gift card sourced from RAC and used the free delivery. So 10.25% off the $312 purchase and a point per dollar on the purchase of the gift card at Dans.
Need to start on topcashback.co.uk later this week.

Having had cancer in their 20's and presenting with worrying symptoms of illness in their '50's one of the first questions asked by the GP after learning of the earlier cancer was whether they'd received chemo for treatment. Because apparently chemo can cause cancer too.

And my MIL was told the chemo she had to take for advanced ovarian cancer caused bladder cancer. Five years after treatment for ovarian cancer she died of cancer related to her bladder.

This D-day veteran was told he couldn't go to D-Day commemorations. He went missing from his Nursing home and was subsequently found in Normandy for the ceremonies!

Thankfully 4 years ago, my mother only needed her colon cancer cut out and didn't require chemo. I guess in some cases, you can't cut it all out. I was reading somewhere in the Cronulla/Essendon Bombers peptide scandal, the injections they received might cause cancer later in life.
I read a journal article of where a kid received unproven stem cell treatments caused tumours in the kid.

Think of the husband brownie points, though!

Was the wife pleased, as a result? ;) :o

Oh she is pleased, but I'm bored! Working 6 days a week... more than 1 day off is very strange. :)

Of course, we are looking at Gold Coast for Cup weekend in November now... :D

Not sure if anyone uses a Vpn/BBC iPlayer but I'm currently watching.

A Very British Airline - Episode 1

Seem's pretty good so far, there is even an FA who enjoys plane spotting! :D

That's a lot of Chivas to imbibe in the 2 week winter that Perth endures. :D Are you trying to pickle them?

I've seen this and enjoyed the first episode. Look forward to the rest of the series.

Just finished dinner on the last night on the Serengeti. The migration is in full swing.

Did a low-level flight (200 feet) over the area for about 40 minutes late yesterday afternoon which was cool. It is great having the flexibility of the dedicated charter to do what we like when we want!

Leave tomorrow morning for the Mahale Mountains park (about 3 h flying time, with a refuelling stop about half way). Mahale is in W Tanzania on the shore of lake Tanganyika and is the home of the world's largest chimpanzee population. A trek to those distant rellies is on the schedule for Tuesday, so looking forward to that!

Meanwhile my first day in Scotland.Had real trouble understanding the fellow at Starbucks.Very talkative and I did understand that when he went to Australia he thought Tasmania had the best climate.
Then the manager at the HGI Glasgow went to Australia last June and thought it was very hot!Obviously a man with taste as he preferred Sydney to Melbourne.:p
But he also went to a State of Origin match and loved the Maroons-a man of impeccable taste!

We witnessed a more unusual event in motorsport today.Driving into Scotland there were people lining all the overpasses. We then noticed vintage motorsport cars travelling the other way.Turns out it was the Gumball 3000 event-Miami to Malaga.

Just had the best mussels I have ever eaten in a small 'home cooking' style restaurant in Alghero. This followed local rock lobster for dinner last night, I wouldn't need much persuasion to move here.

The local pizza is measured in 1/2 metre and 1 metre lengths, a bit too much for even this pizza aficionado.
The wine I have had has also been quite drinkable as well. I'm not going to complain about the coffee either.

The locals are quite happy Ricciardo won the Canadian gp, I think they count him as one of their own. My pronunciation was corrected very quickly, it is ricshardo, the letter 'c' here is a real problem, I never know if it a hard or soft sound and when there are two together, who knows.

On the rallying front, Ogier won again, it's almost a boring as when Loeb was winning all the time.

This is ex F1 driver Robert Kubica, he nearly died in a serious crash a few years ago and has pretty much lost the use of his right hand.

I really wish people wouldn't post sporting results in here!

Hey all

Thought it would be appropriate to post in the OT thread.
Just stumbled upon this archive of the Qantas website from a few years back (Qantas).

Includes all the FF benefits, ASAs and the like as well as that A380 animation (Fly - Qantas A380).

There's quite a few archives of the Qantas website here (Internet Archive Wayback Machine) but if you want to get really nostalgic, pay a visit to here (http://bit.ly/1mv2Kh2)!

That's all folks!

A day of firsts tomorrow for me. First time leaving Australia with Shrek but without the kids, travelling in QF F.
Will be quite nostalgic as it will be my last ever trip to HKG in F, its also old school 747 F and I'm actually really looking forward to it. I will miss those aircraft :( Flying back F on the A380.

You're only going to HKG? Thought for a second you were coming to star in my TR in London. LOL.
