Update on my mum.

She has HER2+ cancer. The tumour was 20 mm when they first found/measured it and 30mm within the month (I don't know if that was at the op or before).
She had her first round of Chemo on friday and has been doing well apart from horrible heart burn.
They visited me after the chemo on friday and we went to the home show on saturday then my dad forced my mum to go home (9 hours) sunday. She wanted to wait another day or two before the drive but dad… now my dads getting the flu and its just him and mum. He is sleeping in the spare room but still they are worried mum will get it.
She has 2 more treatments of this chemo (3 weeks apart) and then 3 treatments of another kind of treatment.
She had the full body scans and blood work and all other things last monday which came back clear so as far as they can see its not in bone, blood or other organs.

I am in Sydney, her treatment is in Orange, they live 40 minutes north of Nyngan but are building a house at Peak Hill. So normally they drive to peak hill before and after medical appointments because its too far to go all the way home. The full body scans were done at Dubbo because the wait was too long in Orange.

I have caught up on recent posts, but think I've missed a few weeks.
Maths is fun.
I choose public treatment, especially in emergency situations.
Don't drink and fry - good ad in NZ they need to bring here because I don't think we understand the dangers of frying. +1 has had 2 friends burn down houses from deep frying (one got called in to work so ran off to shower and forgot he was making dinner, the other did much the same as anat0l) admittedly they were both sober. But they are funny ads so should make an impact.

The scans sound encouraging..good luck.

Talking about dodgy wiring. My next door neighbours power cable used to run from the street through my roof and out the other side to her house. We've obviously had it disconnected and moved, but there was a time you'd be up in the roof stepping over the darn thing rather carefully.

You're doing it wrong. Bacon is a finger food :)

Also has anyone ever considered telling the waitress/waiter beforehand that you don't want the bacon crispy?

Yes, but only after my first LOTFAP bacon adventure.
I even had a waitress respond "You eat it raw???" Cooked but she seemingly still considered it raw

Seems a cafe in Perth has gone overboard by issuing workers fines, with one cook issued a $112 "fine" for not cooking the pork belly crispy enough!

Responding to complaints from four staff, the Fair Work Ombudsman Natalie James found the Subiaco business had regularly docked the wages of its employees, including deducting $100 each time they were more than five minutes’ late for their rostered shifts.
On one occasion, a female cook had $112 taken from her pay packet after her employer decided the crackling on a pork belly dish was “not crispy enough”.

The affected employees — from India and Nepal on regional sponsored migration visas at the time — no longer work at the premises.
Ms James said the employees had received compensation of $5000 each from their former employer following conciliation before the Fair Work Commission.
The Fair Work Ombudsman issued the business with on-the-spot fines totalling $7650 and a letter of caution placing it on notice for any further contraventions.
“Deducting money from employee wages as a punishment, or as some sort of performance management tool, is completely unlawful,” Ms James said.
