Truck rollover at MEL.

12:53pm: The powerful winds are so strong that trucks are being pushed over with one blocking the entrance to Melbourne Airport's long term car park.
The truck has rolled over on Mercer Drive at Tullamarine Airport, blocking traffic in both directions, Jessica Wright reports.
The accident is proving a nightmare for Melbourne Airport authorities as the truck has turned over near the entrance to the long term car park and traffic is heavy in the area.
Meanwhile, another truck has become stuck under the rail overpass near Bellair Street in Flemington. Heavy delays are already banked up in both directions.
Drivers are advised to seek an alternate route.
Emergency services are on their way to both locations.
A truck roll over has closed all outbound lanes of the Western Highway at Christies Road in Ravenhall.

I hadn't noticed... Although just found a window and it does look a bit sad outside.
Tree falling acros tracks have affected at least 5 rail lines so far today ...

Good old Australia going from one extreme to the other. It wasn't that long ago heat waves were going through Melbourne.

I literally haven't seen the sun today until that short moment when I found a window earlier.

I had to go outside to get to the office, but that was it...

Hope nobody was hurt - This weather can be brutal

Even so with the cool & windy weather - Melbourne is still a lovely city.

Dear Doctor AFF,

I am not sure if I just did a good thing or a bad thing.
I had to do a couple of MEL/CBR returns in August but delegated them to someone else to do.
I feel dirty, but I feel very happy, What is wrong with me?
Is this the beginning of the end of my Frequent flyer days?

Yours faithfully

Was the delegee (it's a word) in need of these points and SC more than you?

Well, he didn't even have a FF number........... I did at least force him to sign up for free through EDR, but no, no need for the points or SC..........

Dear ReLoad, think of this act as building up goodwill and leaving you free to claim the longer business trips where you will reap far greater rewards than 40 SCs and 4k points.

Phew! Minor disaster averted. Small stove fire cleaned up, minimal structural damage.

In other news, use the deepest vessel you can get if you're deep frying.

Sounds like you deserve to be panned for your failed cooking efforts. ;)

Well just my luck I am airing out the house after the incident (smoke has completely cleared) and now there's something on fire in the distance. It can't be back burning (not this time of night)......

Smelt everything around the place and it would seem smoke has not infused greatly into the rest of the house. Wondering now if I should call an electrician to have a look at the stove before reusing it. It looks OK visually and I was able to shut it off normally.....

An electrician will probably tell you the whole house needs rewiring. If you have a safety circuit switch you should be fine.

Had to have the fuel pump in my car replaced today. And there's a few more things need doing. CC bill is not going to be pretty this month :(
My credit card bill is not pretty any month.

Just when I say I am not going to spend any more on travel I find something new to book. :(

I would guess that if nothing was spilt on the stove it would probably be fine.

FWIW, I am not sure that safety switches are connected to the stove/oven circuits because they are 15 amp. I thought it was just normal power points. :?:

Hey when did the big departures board in MEL T2 get pulled down? God there is a piece of history I will sadly miss - I loved that old board.
