I just got out of the UAE before it started, thankfully!

I would not mind experiencing it. The tent we had the Qantas gala dinner in last year was specifically designed for feast celebrations each night during Ramadan and was huge, it must be quite a party after a long day.

My first exposure to Ramadan was in Malaysia just before the comm games, catching a taxi to the city the driver was keenly listening to the radio. He asked if I minded pulling over so he could eat for the first time that day and I naturally obliged, it was a surreal experience and a good reminder that sometimes we may both be on the same journey, but with different priorities in mind.

I'm interested in experiencing it. But the 45C temps and trying to do the tourist things are the killer for me.

Well today I learnt that my breast stroking days are over.

Yes I know what you thought.;):p
But I meant the swimming stroke.
Knee replacements and the frog kick just don't go together.:)

After getting home from London yesterday afternoon I find myself struggling to stay awake until 10 PM to get my body clock to reset 7 hours. I think I will be ok so I am booked for Adelaide on Monday evening.
Have a slew of MASAs to do tomorrow so I need to be thinking clearly. Have only done 9 while I was in London using Skype which worked out very well.

Why are TV screens required on top of petrol pumps...? I think they have also slowed down the flow rate of fuel delivery to justify the screens, which BTW are 80% commercials and 20% minor news events & weather...

Not sure if I missed it, but who was the millionth poster???

We're now over 3000 past it.

Maybe a picture with a bottle of tattinger and remoa toiletries bag, fluffy slippers and the requisite PJs :)

Just remember you soft Northerners, the temperature has been up to 10c lower in MEL not to mention the wind chill that has made the temp seem like it is 0C.

Huh!

I froze in Melbourne on 04 May playing golf at Sunshine. That was awful.

I froze yesterday and today playing golf at Bardwell Valley in Sydney. Today was worse. The wind was non-stop.

I would prefer the heatwave where a couple of ice cubes in the beer cools everything down.

Whereas today in Melbourne 11C was top with wind and squally heavy rain ... golfers would have been stoic .

So it was a couple of degrees warmer at Bardwell Valley.

I had 3 layers of clothing and I was freezing. The wind would change direction every 3-4 seconds. I would throw grass up 4-5 times and each time it would blow a different direction.

That day you were playing Golf in Melbourne, I was riding my bike in a t-shirt and shorts.
