I have tried contacts but had problems putting them in/out.

I'm scared of the lasering. Apart from the procedure itself, if it is the 0.0001% (or whatever it is) that fails, I'm screwed.

Yeah. I'm not sold on it. Especially since a friend had issues with one of his eyes last year.

Have never tried them, hate anybody even myself touching my eyes.

Re lasering you're basically burning (i.e. thinning) your cornea. Given my shortsightedness it is way too thin to burn any away. Besides you're conscious whilst it's done. No way would I even consider it.

I have had glasses since I was 17.multifocals for a few years. No problems. They are on all the time except playing golf. For some reason with the multifocals I just cant get the position of the ball right when hitting the ball so rely on an old pair of just distance glasses.

Maybe that's my problem with golf. I am wearing multi focals with transition lens.

I didn't need glasses until the magic age of 45. Downhill since then. And optical companies have that as a hot button age in the production cycle for reading glasses.

Congratulations Buzzard.

Believe it or not we are just about to watch Series 1 Episode 1
Late adopters we are :D

I have never seen a single episode and have only ever heard it mentioned on AFF.

I read the first 3-4 pages of the Wikipedia article. Doesn't sound too exciting. It sounds more like Days of Our Lives with a medieval fantasy theme.

I could be summed up as Game of sexsexsexsexdeathdeathgoregoresexsexdeath Thrones.

JohnK, almost everyone I know is watching it. Young, Old, in between! They just don't watch it together!

Just picture all the weaponry as being club selection, and the fighting and maiming as keg tapping. The drama and tension, well that could be anyones life really.

I never pictured JohnK as someone who watched Days of our lives. :o

Unlike days of our lives story lines are resolved in GoT, when people get killed.

Last week I told someone at work that winter is coming. They replied "it's already here."

Add another to the list.

I may end up watching it somewhere in SE Asia and find I actually like it. Until then....

Depends on how much South East Asian B grade drama / horror shows you can put up with.

I made the rookie mistake of taking my eldest daughter to the cinema to watch The Wolf of Wall Street
I hadn't seen the trailers
I downloaded it from net with great anticipation - god was I disappointed - why do we need to highlight / glorify excessive drug abuse - I just don't get it!

And seemingly not read the reviews . Just as well it wasn't youngest daughter, I guess ;):p.

How old is the tot in question?

Fortunately she wasn't a tot, just an impressionable 18 yr old.
Unfortunately I think this movie was giving her the wrong sort of impression :p

I did have a few friends who remarked after seeing said film that they may have pursued the wrong career....

I read the book when it came out. Ok, but not good enough to get me to buy & read his follow up.

Years later when I saw the trailers for the movie I got turned off big time. I want no more part in glorifying this pig and lining his pocket anymore than I have.

We should ban convicted criminals like him coming to this country.....just like the yanks do. Compare how we and the US treat David Hicks and his book to this low life!

A social club I am a member of organised a movie night without the organiser reading the reviews. Some interesting discussion afterwards. Thing was, I had read the reviews and was thinking how 'open minded' the club was. Oh well, I liked it.
