I was in Melbourne in a Hotel room near the MCG. Kids being minded at home. I left a message on MrP's phone. Then wondered why I had done that and how much of an impact Princess Di had that I wanted to do that. At that time it was said she was still alive.

I watched the funeral alone in my bedroom and cried.

I was in Munich that day. The funeral coverage was on every channel.

Some events are unforgettable.Another moment etched in my mind is the moment I heard JFK had been shot.It was my sister's birthday.

Apart from family the only event that really mattered was 16 August 1977 but even that is a whole lifetime ago and just a fading memory.
