The burqa isn't a requirement under the Islam belief system. So why does it fall under religious practise when it is usually groups like the Taliban requiring it. They are political groups.
Is something considered ok just because it is a practise required by religious sect?
Let's look at some fundamentalist Christian practices. Coptic Christians in some sects practise female circumcision. Choice? It's usually the mothers enforcing the practise.
As for speedos, they are never going to look good. Even at the age of four my son refused to wear them and that was the end of club swimming for him.
