Crazy to unhinge the peg to the Euro. Still want to read the story behind it. Amazing that a couple of FX Traders have lost $250M+ and one has gone bust.

Think about the regular person who took a loan in Swiss Francs as they have good interest rates compared to their local currency.

I remember a old high school teacher talked about Kidney stones. I don't if this is true, but he said that if you saw small grains in a Men's urinal, they are most likely small kidney stones that have been passed.

I always thought they were poppy seeds from a badly baked urinal cake.

Taking out loans in a Foreign currency has always been risky. Remember the fiasco caused in the 80's by Westpacs and CBA foreign currency loans and the trouble some customers got into.

You have to have very deep pockets if your trying to manipulate the market, and I guess even Swiss National Bank decided it could afford to play that game anymore.
Similarly the UK government was forced to leave the ERM in the 1992 which was a pegging mechanism for the £ to the €. Though the results were quite opposite. The £ depreciated against the € whereas the CHF has gone the other way

I've thought about this more now the pain is behind me. I think the intensity of the two pains is similar, but labour pain follows a wave pattern increasing to a peak and dropping away over about a 30 second cycle giving moments of relief before starting again, gallstone pain is a flat line of pain with no relief. Plus, I imagine, in labour hormones are probably involved that make it easier to cope. A gallstone attack rarely lasts more than 5hrs, labour on the other hand...

Seeing that our team Green Bay lost, may as well go for the Seahawks also, so that it stays in our Division.
Would have liked to surprise hubby with another trip to the Superbowl had Green Bay made it thru.

Looks like our shares in GB may not increase in price though LOL.
