If not 'urgent', then possibly the 10:30 is a friend / relative [wrong to do so anyway].

No sane medico would operate an appointment system that way, trust me !
I see where you are coming from and that is how it is supposed to worked in theory.

But trust me when I say that in my experience in some practices, and all clinics at Princess Alexandra Hospital, people are seen in the order they arrive. The few times I complained I got weird looks implying how dare I question a doctor's receptionist on which order a patient will be seen. So why bother giving appointment times?

The clinics I visit at PAH are very popular and everyone just shuts up and doesn't complain. The other day was the first time I saw someone other than me complain about lengthy delays. Yes I know I should expect delays of up to 2 hours but that should be the exception not the norm. And delays of close to 3 hours are not delays of up to 2 hours.

At PAH I visit 4 different clinics + day surgery unit and it would appear I have been barred from one of them as I walked out after 2+ hour wait in December as I had to get back to office before heading off to airport for flight to SYD. Now in March no follow up appointment and they did send me a rather nasty letter copied to the clinic that referred me. Its not like they were doing anything about my excruciating chronic pain anyway.

Was out walking around the local area this afternoon when we saw a stray dog run in front of some cars. Thankfully he wasn't hit, my wife ran to coles to buy a lead/collar while I tried to hold a really excited staffy with no collar. Took him to.the to the vet earlier this evening to be looked after.

Just got a call from the very appreciative owner, can only hope someone else would do the same thing.

Not what we had in mind for a relaxing Sunday

But I thought people like to live in Bris/Qld cos it is hot and often wet? Same as Syd, just hotter.
Certainly a huge difference between now and Thursday/Friday. Go from one extreme to another. Not my cup of tea.

You are all <strike>individuals</strike> / untouchables. :)

Ahh. The striketrough formatting doesn't work for the posts! But you get the idea.

Tiny O/T .. if someone .. (like serfty who uses it often) can say how to get strike-though to work, I'd be interested.

Seems everyone has Mondayitis and not reading the news.
RIP Lee Kuan Yew

Certainly laid the foundation for today's Singapore.

or we were working and not reading AFF  - didn't see it come up in any of my news feeds.

I think most people on AFF may know of Singapore, but little about Lee Kuan Yew, let alone what he did or let alone any idea of the political climate of Singapore.

That said, most of the eulogising is on how the man developed Singapore economically, culturally and socially, putting aside political dogma.

Using ABC app, I could only find the story by going to World section - Top Stories and Just In didn't have it. On the BBC app, the story is in Top Stories and (of course) Asia section.

I got an update from the BBC App - can't miss them, it uses the BBC theme; one of those notification tones that you can't miss. ;)

I know Singapore has its version of a Nelson Mandela Chia Thye Poh - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Wrap your text in [noparse][noparse] ... [/noparse][/noparse] tags to avoid the BB formatting.

Discussions about bbcode are not off-topic for this thread then? ;)
