I see where you are coming from and that is how it is supposed to worked in theory. If not 'urgent', then possibly the 10:30 is a friend / relative [wrong to do so anyway].
No sane medico would operate an appointment system that way, trust me !
But trust me when I say that in my experience in some practices, and all clinics at Princess Alexandra Hospital, people are seen in the order they arrive. The few times I complained I got weird looks implying how dare I question a doctor's receptionist on which order a patient will be seen. So why bother giving appointment times?
The clinics I visit at PAH are very popular and everyone just shuts up and doesn't complain. The other day was the first time I saw someone other than me complain about lengthy delays. Yes I know I should expect delays of up to 2 hours but that should be the exception not the norm. And delays of close to 3 hours are not delays of up to 2 hours.
At PAH I visit 4 different clinics + day surgery unit and it would appear I have been barred from one of them as I walked out after 2+ hour wait in December as I had to get back to office before heading off to airport for flight to SYD. Now in March no follow up appointment and they did send me a rather nasty letter copied to the clinic that referred me. Its not like they were doing anything about my excruciating chronic pain anyway.
