Not looking forward to 3 hours in a Rex "battered sab"this afternoon.

I just had this premonition that this was not going to be a good experience.rex have made my bag disappear into thin air.went on at BHQ but supposedly did not come off at SYD.
VA are left with the clean up as it was to be interlined.
though VA hasn't been stress free-was given a number to ring if I had not been called by midday.Rang, eventually a recorded message and then nothing.Repeated 3 times but finally emailed them and did get a reply ~ 3 hours later.
Have decided I wont accept a job that requires me to fly Rex.

Hell!!! Checked bag has clearly been opened and repacked. It contained dirty shirts, smalls and a medical device. Don't mind so much if they want to check it isn't another type of device. But did they have to throw out the plastic shopping bags that I was illegally smuggling in South Australia?

So a follow up.Once email contact was established VA did a great job and kept me informed.
As my bag arrived on VA into BNE this morning I think my original thoughts are correct and this was a REX stuff up.
Now reunited with my luggage.

Looks like the Tories have the keys for No 10 for another 5 years.

Busy couple of days. NBN connected & the internet now works. I had a couple of cables wrong. Last night I got 2 Thingys down on ADSL2+ & now on NBN, I got 47 Thingys down. Still waiting for my phone line to be ported. Not sure why that will take days.

My new iPhone took a week to arrive but I'm up & running there too.

Glad to hear that things have gone reasonably smoothly.

Many, many months ago I asked in here about contacts to Johnny Depp; a friend from school was trying to arrange for her sick son to meet his hero. A facebook campaign followed with a group with 5000 members following progress. Signs held up at award shows and all sorts.

As background her son had his first stroke just before he turned one, with more since plus some kind of seizures. Prognosis sounds to be poor.

Anyway, Captain Jed met up with Captain Jack Sparrow yesterday. Had a great chat and it sounds like Johnny Depp really connected with the young fella.

Just wanted to report back since I did ask here for help and ideas.

Groan. Wet Friday night. Long week for MrP travelling and working. Car parked in airport car park. Flat battery.

You did well, Erk.

My NBN cost me six (count them, 6!) 4 hour absences from work and three months.

On the plus side, we do get FTTH/96Mbs, but it was a painful delivery (equivalent to forceps and episiotomy)
