Re: Who says share markets ALWAYS make money over long time periods?

To think he will probably make more as a 3rd stringer and special team NFL player then as a NRL champion.
Good on him. One percent of players make it from high school gridiron to college gridiron and then one percent make it from college to the NFL.

What you reckon will be his total playing time? If he cracks sixty seconds. Which is about 2hrs in actual time.

Re: Who says share markets ALWAYS make money over long time periods?

Happy Fathers Day to all the dads, especially those that wont get the chance to see their off-spring today.
I saw half of mine (i.e. one of two as the other is in Brisbane for a few days) and all the grandkids so had a good day.

That combined with my next post and the fact we had a certain other moderator stay last night, I'm very happy.

Looks like I might finally have a shot at selling my house in Sale with this announcement today:

FINALLY, after what must surely be one of the longest procurement processes in the history of procurement processes, the ADF has picked Team 21 and the Pilatus PC-21 to replace the RAAF's PC-9/A aircraft.

East Sale RAAF Base to host Australian Defence Force flight training

Lockheed’s “Team 21″ finally confirmed as AIR 5428 winning bidder

The first article is a typical Herald Sun article with a bunch of errors but still good news and the second from Australian Aviation. :D:D:D:D:D:D:D

If you're referring to Jarred Hayne who is now playing for the San Francisco 49ers, I don't believe he has ever played Rugby. As far as I know he started playing Rugby League at the age of six and continued in League until his move to the USA.

Ask the commentators in the USA - it's Rugby Rugby Rugby .... took monitor (from FT) to a sharks raiders game before the Perth OZFest and went to some length to educate him on how to differentiate between union and league.

After watching for 60 minutes he asked how many players are still going by the time they reach 30. (My generalised answer was it's for forwards who come and go, just watch the 1, 6, 7 and 9 play maker's ...

Re: Who says share markets ALWAYS make money over long time periods?

A significant reason that it is newsworthy. So hard to change codes (not sure re Rugby Union to League and vice versa though) - look at Folau and Hunt turning to Aussie rules. One attempt an outright failure (Folau), the other just a bit more successful (Hunt).

As far as I'm concerned Folau had an extremely successful change to AFL. He is has taken a number of spectacular marks for the Wallabies, yet to see anyone out jump him. Excellent skill for a fullback to have.

Sailor and Brad Horne didn't make the best transitions to Rugby from League. Notwithstanding Horne's time with the All Blacks, which just shows he's a skilled sportsman.

Back before professional rugby, there must of been heaps that successfully made the transition from schoolboy Rugby to League. Wally Lewis for example.

Heaps of union-league converts. Many who made Wallabies at early age and moved to league before 25.

But league/union to AFL is a much harder switch, daresay harder than to NFL.

Izzie was an OK player for GWS but was never going to be the start he was in league or has become in union. He was however a great marketing gimmick

Fro those rev heads amongst you, looks like we have a new neighbour across the road.

My replica Brock VK Commodore: Car News | CarsGuide

He started up the car this afternoon to get it off the trailer and into the garage and I think the whole district knows he's arrived (so my wife reports).

Dockers footy seats for the next final are being offered at about 5 times face value within minutes of sales being completed.
