I remember when I worked out in Narre Warren North. It involved a 90 minute commute out of the city, on the tram/train/bus in that order. The trains were certainly empty as I travelled in the opposite direction as everyone else.

Well interview went ok. Will know in a few days if they're willing to make an offer or not. If no offer, then playing that waiting game until some other interview opportunity arises.

May have mentioned it here (or not), but I am considering extending my time in the UK job until at least Feb. Was planning to head back in mid Oct if no role materialised, but think I should stick around for a bit longer due to the way the job market is and not wanting to blow any chances of staying for a lot longer.

I'd imagine some charter airlines would fly that route. Macair probably used to fly it before they pushed up the daisies.

Otherwise, both QF and DJ fly the route - QF use Dash 8s and DJ use E-jets.

Just got an email from mine site - looks like I've been given the green light to go to South Africa. There's a whole pile of caveats attached, but we can work through those.

Luckily there are still reasonably priced Red e-Deals to JNB available.

I know I can just sleep better tonight knowing that I can plan for my case study with more confidence. Plus I've shaved off up to 6 months from the completion time for my PhD.....

Me too now to get a ticket to the match. Just purchased the air tickets ($370 CBR-MEL return :shock down on Friday and return on Monday. An ugly match but they got the right result.

Anyone got a ticket for sale? Please, begging and grovelling are going to be the only way I will get one.
