Its especially so over here playing hockey, very much a "lads culture". For that reason I tend to go back to the clubhouse for teas and then toddle on after.

Well. One return flight was a classic award. The other is fully cancellable. I'm cool. . I keep checking and prices are currently the same.

And beloved spouse has had an accident in my car. It's been towed, there was another person/bike involved. We aren't aware of any significant injuries on their part, but they said to my husband he'd be buying them a new bike. And some swear words thrown in.

And he's about to go away for a few days.

The airfare I found looks good. It is a Qantas published airfare but I can only find an itinerary with 3K as the first sector. It is possible to book MH for a few dollars more but that would have to be done via the phone or travel agent.

Couple of worries.

- No lounge access before 3K flight
- I'd be coming over on a separate flight from BKK and I'm worried if any delays then trouble

Sorry that is not a defence. That is, in fact, why you are being caned now. You're the head coach, and you did zero to know what was happening to your players?!
An utter lack of any oversight by the club and the head coach that has destroyed the careers of 34 players. The guy still doesn't get it. Maybe he had a few too many head knocks.

It beggars belief that James Hird, as he keeps claiming, was ignorant of the supplements regime and what was in the injections. These players are top athletes, under enormous pressure to perform at their peak week after week. They are so closely monitored - physical condition, match fitness,what their strengths and weaknesses are, diet, what medical, physio etc attention they receive. I would imagine there's a fairly thick file on each player which is constantly updated. And so many of them are young and undoubtedly keen to follow the club culture and probably not game enough or independent enough to question the folk in charge.

As a parent I am horrified to think that Hird was so cavalier with their health. He has totally abrogated his responsibility to these young men, with who knows what consequences to their health, short or long term. No care, no consequences. He is still not taking responsibility - if he didn't know what was in those injections he sure as shootin' should have. Nothing clownish about it - just completely irresponsible.

I imagine he was so keen to be as successful a coach as he was a player that it was win at all costs.A terrible price to pay - and throughout he looked like all he was concerned about was covering his own bum.
