How does this **** make the news?

This remark is no slight to those who choose to be vegetarian or vegan. Just how slow the news day must be for something like this to be shoved online?

Its online rubbish. Like all the celeb trash that makes 'headlines'. Fuelled by the media.

Wouldn't it make sense to call themselves the Orange cab company? Silly me would be looking out for a yellow cab.

Can you imagine if Black & White cabs were actually blue and yellow? Or if Lime cabs were red. Now that would be confusing.

Black & White whisky is neither black nor white (or green):

Aced it. Doesn't mean jack, though, even with respect to common sense.

As soon as you read some of those questions, your mind kicks into "WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAIT A MINUTE!" mode.

I've seen a few of those questions before.

Agree. Not common sense at all but looking for trick answers. As far as the hair on head one - the question implies there is.

Saw Nigella Lawson at the Opera house the other night. Her take on things like diets to prevent cancer, and paleo diets (it's a lot of cough, but expressed in that nice british way) is you can't live forever eat what you like.

Though this vegetarian doesn't think it such a great idea-

Try the illusion tests.
Find the panda: The science behind the optical illusion
I tried this yesterday on 2 of them and couldn't see anything after a couple of minutes.
Today I saw the article again and saw the C immediately. And then proceeded to the rest and saw each of them immediately.

That is more a puzzle to me than the puzzle?

It is interesting that for both they C and the Panda, they were located to the right. So when I found the C in a few seconds I tried the Panda and found it went almost immediately. The location is probably a coincidence.

That's interesting. I went for the panda by looking for a different nose and scanned that way. I thought about how a panda would look different to the rest.
How about the stripes and zigzags? Saw those immediately.

on 8 August 2016, my long service leave will match my sick leave - 432 hours of each.

I am a tad jealous. Worked in the NHS for 12 years and only had 2 days off. Moved to Australia and realised one of the first financial things I had to do was buy Income Protection

Why do you need income protection?

In 30 years I have only ever taken unpaid leave for sickness once and that was ~4 weeks in 2010 when I had chicken pox.

Maybe I have been lucky but I don't understand this recent push of insuring everything.

I do get to save a bit on income protection premiums by being able to have a longer waiting period.

It sick leave is an interesting one really. I had a taxi driver, claimed to be an ex-union type, whose advice was to never have more than about 200 hours of sick leave. I could see his point, but I'd rather not abuse the system so it's viable for as long as possible.

Why do you need income protection?

We have one main income and lots of bills (at least $30000 a year not including food, for housing and education)

I am a bit older than you and we have always had income protection. Something you must have if you have dependents and a mortgage.

You have your own business right?

I leave (pun?) ~20 days annual leave and ~4-5 days sick leave in the bank at all times.

I'd love to know how much I would have thrown away with income protection. Life insurance. Accidental Death. Etc, etc.

Thanks Robert Barlow for your thoughts on febrile.
I had trouble with licit and illicit and of course disgruntled and gruntled.

What I would really like to know is if you castrate a male pig, is it disgruntled?
