Indeed. He's older than me.. IIRC, married twice + fiancee + this current engagement. TBH, it shouldn't be that hard!

Seems to me a decent chap. 2 kids from failed marriage. Likely better anger management after this relationship.

I believe we over insure.

Note that I work for an insurance company and one of their main focuses is to create new products to sell.

I'll disagree with that premise, having been involved in many claims over my 31 years in the industry. I have yet to have a deceaseds spouse or beneficiaries tell me they have been left with too much money (lump sum claims).

By contrast, Income Protection claims are limited (in the vast majority of policies) to 75% of your pre-disability income (indemnity policies) or a fixed amount (bed on agreed value). But that is an example of purposely under insuring to ensure the majority of people who can go back to work, are able to return to full earnings

1 professional income. 4 children. Little cash savings
One prolonged medical illness from financial embarrasment. One head injury/stroke from destitutio

It's a weird industry. I know a few in it who very much under insure as they don't see the value.

After all the operating costs are taken into account you can get a better 'return' on Lotto.

And then I know others for whom some of the esoteric products (eg pet insurance ) have saved them $$s - do not buy a pure bred pug.

And how many claims do you actually see paid out?

Pax on a suburban train was using the hand rails as a set of monkey bars and lost his grip, an almighty thud followed.

Fortunately pax was conscious by the time I wandered down the carriage to offer assistance. Driver and PSOs offloaded pax onto platform and train continued.

Clearly affected by something, and should probably attend ED. No doubt a big headache tomorrow.

We pay insurance policies in the 10's of thousands/pa ... wouldn't live without them.

Happy not to see a return.

The Costco fuel outlet at Majura Park keeps the Woolies prices there low, this afternoon it was 99.7 with 4 cent discount whilst Woolies at Hume had it at 120.7 with the discount.

Gee, competition is a good thing as you've pointed out.

So we went to the tennis last night - 4 of us and without sounding too much of a wanker I would say 4 pretty level headed true blue proud Australians. Like most people here also - I would suggest we ALL really really want to support Nick Kyrgios - and I also think we ALL really really want him to reach the heights in his tennis career that his god given natural ability might permit - but OMG - his antics - his on court demeanour - he is so hard to continually support.

We have to remember he is only 20yo - Andre and Super Brat were displaying similar tendencies at similar age and they went on to be absolute monuments to the game. Nick has as much natural talent as these guys - does he have the work ethic? He clearly does not have the brain ATPIT - and you may or may not be aware ATPIT he does not have a coach.

What he so badly needs is an external mentor - not a family member or friend - but an external mentor that sits outside that cliquey internal group he has surrounding him - blind freddy can see this why can't he or they being his closest support group? I just hope they do wake up - Australian tennis needs it - world tennis needs it - we the Australian public want it. Bad boys turning good are great stories - I really hope this has a happy ending - his tirade at Chair Umpire at conclusion of last nights match just another sad chapter.

As usual above IMHO of course and YMMV.

Watching the Hopman Cup I felt he may have turned that corner.Sadly that is not the case on last night's performance.
Tomic though does seem to be learning a little civility.
And then there is Leyton-what an arrogant rude little boy he was.Still retained some of that but on the whole another that did change and punched above his weight.
Gutsy efforts by Millman and Gavrilova highlights for me so far though I do have a liking for Federer's play.

Like all things in life, raw talent does not equate with enduring performance success. Its the stuff between the ears that makes the difference.

Pat Rafter is probably the only modern Aussie tennis player who had the full package. The Woodies also but not as stellar. Hewitt was a brat early on, as was Cash. As for the next lot - is it the parents fault for making their sons think they are gods gift?

At least Hewitt never ever gave up.
