The totally off-topic thread

Wouldn't spamming be a bit dishonest? You want people to sign a petition because they actually endorse the position it is expressing, not coerce them for any reason.

I have got a few jobs after being knocked back. The key was thanking them for the interview and telling them I would still love to work for them... Low and behold, successful applicant pulls out or they make another position for you.

Have done, however I usually get no response. A couple of responses did come back with a rather automatic sounding message saying that my dossier will be retained on file in case of a future opportunity arising.

The job I went for was internal, so I will be able to get some meaningful feedback.

Do you keep or delete emails relating to AFF in your inbox ?

Keep them, but only because my Gmail has so much space that it isn't an issue yet, plus it still isn't looking too cluttered.

In another mailbox, I'd probably delete them after about a fortnight or when I need to clean it. PM emails may deserve extra attention.

Could also be related to age. Once you hit a certain age the premiums go from bad to

I keep the latest of each thread including that which I've unsubscribed from. Was wondering whether these even are worthy of keeping.

Oh insurance - a necessary evil isn't it? Got my car renewal in the post and noticed that it was being stored at the wrong address (My parent's address 2 suburbs away). Thought I'd do the right thing and get this corrected - a ~$70 increase in premium later left me wondering why I did the right thing in the first place.

PM needs to learn what "Confidential" means.

It may have been a tongue in cheek comment referring to the recent petition that was spammed out via the mailing list that I mentioned a few posts back, that had factually incorrect information regarding credit card rewards/costs in the UK as it's main reason behind the argument.

Fair enough. I thought that was rather interesting for AFF to send that kind of thing out in its communications. I can't recall AFF (as a "user") broadcasting a point of view like that since the scandal with the live stock treatment in Indonesia. Of course, AFF might have been paid to circulate that petition, though that would be a bit touchy on ethics.

Foreigner the pay wall blocks access any chance you could add a few words of comment ?

The title probably told me enough of what to expect - Dad lists his 7-year-old son as a secretary...
