Or maybe some people like to catch up with friends and family over a coffee in a location outside the home that is like neutral territory. Much like those who socialise over a beer, I suppose.

Who Knew?

Got a speeding fine in a 40km zone, when I thought it was a 50km zone.

Realise I have a good driving record and can get off the fine by asking for a caution. :)

This is interesting if you are around Rockhampton way and have some land and need a kit home on it ... from GreysOnLine:

Nothing wrong with a milkshake. Needless to say, though, I have a hard time finding a good one.

Yes, I am well aware that McDonalds is no yardstick on the quality of a milkshake, but I still struggle to find good ones. The trend is generally changing with new cafes popping up - good solid milkshakes (some with real flavours, not syrups) with some body to it. Only somewhat rivalled by the more commonplace frappe revolution.

When I was last in Sydney I tried the Peanut Butter & Jelly shake at Cheekyburger. That was pretty good, although I am more of a traditionalist to be honest.

I'm kinda allergic to paying full price - I can get a trimmed price at Sale but that's 220km away - Straitman any chance you can collect it for me and deliver to Parkdale tomorrow?
Had I seen this yesterday I could have brought it down yesterday as I went through to the airport to pick up Sue after her Fiji cyclone adventure.

From memory, the milkshake was Maccas first selling point, before burgers like the Big Mac was released.

<snip>

20-30 years ago people were drinking any coffeee. Even instant coffee. Now it has to be brand coffee. There are about 8-10 coffee shops in Toowong and they are all busy. Oh and while you are getting me the 400 calorie coffee I would love to have a 400 calorie piece of cake please.

I don't understand the obsession.

So you keep saying.

I have a locally produced coffee (pod) and a 0% milk with it, and no cake. Is that OK?

Friend of mine is in the habit of taking a bottle of Basket Press shiraz with him (and a mate) for their round of golf. Those golfers ...

So it would appear you and I are different.

I had figured that out long ago. ;)

Just as well then. For a minute there I thought you thought that we should think the same. All good now. I'll try not to bore you too much with the golf discussion. ;)

Have you ever noticed in LOTFAP that you are the only one in the restaurant that is drinking wine at lunchtime ?

Most of the other diners seem to drink that terrible cold tea stuff. Personally I am a freshly ground coffee man and don't like tea at all. But really, what's wrong with a glass of good wine for lunch ?

Coca-Cola to reveal they are bankrolling campaigns that blame the lack of exercise as the primary cause of obesity.

Coca-Cola is bankrolling a campaign to focus the discussion about obesity in Australia on exercise and away from diet as the solution to the health epidemic.
Last August, Coca-Cola's global boss promised to publish all financing of health groups and research globally after revelations of its activities by the The New York Times.

And they usually add a tonne of sugar to it...
