Ditto. Can't recall ever paying someone for a tea. But then again I still prefer a milkshake over coffee half the time anyway. Real grown up like.

Nothing wrong with a milkshake. Needless to say, though, I have a hard time finding a good one.

Yes, I am well aware that McDonalds is no yardstick on the quality of a milkshake, but I still struggle to find good ones. The trend is generally changing with new cafes popping up - good solid milkshakes (some with real flavours, not syrups) with some body to it. Only somewhat rivalled by the more commonplace frappe revolution.

Tend not to pay more than £1.50 for a 'cup' of tea here, coffee is considerably more. Not sure why Aus is same same?

Whilst on the topic of Coffee, attached below is an article relating to the German city of Hamburg banning Coffee Pods from the city's Council Buildings.

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/w...isposable-coffee-pods-packaging-a6887216.html

An interesting point is that 6 grams of coffee is held inside the pod, whilst the pod itself weighs 3 grams, so from an environmental perspective the Hamburg City Council has a valid point, although speaking for myself, I do like Nespresso and won't be giving up on it just yet :)

Jeez, glad I'm a tea drinker ;)

Me too! Though I detest paying $4 when they send out a cup with a Lipton tea bag. I'll have a hot chocolate or chai usually.

Much relief here this morning; new boss has given me the ok for holidays I already had booked this year. Now I have three weeks to get my old bosses sorted so they can survive until their original PA returns (mat leave).

Mango eh? Very envious (but do you get fruit bats in Adelaide?). Lets compare the mangos to my peaches next year. I got 6 beaut ones off my dwarf peach (its first year ... in a (BIG!) pot). The peaches diameter were 20% of the height of the tree

It's a baby mango at the moment. Need to have it survive an adelaide winter first. then I can worry about fruit bats...But I don't think there are any. Crows and magpies might be an issue.

Heard a lot about Nespresso pods and the environmental impact. There has to be a better way of handling this than how it is right now. I know that in Switzerland, where it's socially norm to separate waste, there's a separate collection for Nespresso coffee pods, which I believe then get separately sorted so hopefully they do something about all that package waste (e.g. recycle it). Not necessarily an efficient system but there has to be some better ideas afoot.

What is it with coffee drinkers and wine drinkers these days? Seriously don't understand the obsession.

No more than anyone who doesn't drink alcohol (let alone beer) would understand you.

Odd reply to a post about drinking tea.

That said, I understand your lack of understanding. For me it's about golf. "A good walk ruined" as Churchill once said. But usually I just ignore it and leave those that enjoy it to do their thing without comment.

Nespresso pods are supposed to be returned to the shop for recycling. It seems the problem is more likely to be people being too lazy to make the effort.

Aluminium is very recyclable.

They can be taken to florists too (see post #49574).

Not even remotely the same.

I don't need a beer in the morning. When I do drink a beer I will drink almost any beer.

20-30 years ago people were drinking any coffeee. Even instant coffee. Now it has to be brand coffee. There are about 8-10 coffee shops in Toowong and they are all busy. Oh and while you are getting me the 400 calorie coffee I would love to have a 400 calorie piece of cake please.

I don't understand the obsession.

For a good strawberry milkshake the Super Strawberry at Glen Innes would take a lot of beating.

So it would appear you and I are different.
