Wouldn't you want to put that trip off for a while to let your body recover?
Sadly JohnK, I tend to agree - even emotionally recover. But it will put it off for 2 years as that's how long I need to wait to get travel insurance again - and the glaciers may have melted by then!

But you raise an excellent point. I am clearly in a puddle of muddle right now. And just had to do the Business BAS!

US breakfasts get me. I call it death by breakfast. Eggs, bacon (plenty of it), pancakes, maple syrup, sausage links, coffee. The coffee gets me. I was having breakfast at the Sheraton Waikiki last year and the waiter came up saying: "can I start you with some coffee?" and nearly poured some when I said: "No. I'll get some juice first" My conclusion: Americans can't do anything in the day until they have had a cup of coffee - and - if the waiter pours you a cup of coffee you will have to tip him at the end - even though the breakfast is a buffet.

I guess the home filter coffee machines are really popular in the US - many friends seem to have them, and set them up the night before to be ready when they get up in the morning. When I was doing regular 4/5 am meetings with colleagues in the US, they couldn't believe I wouldn't have a coffee until after 8am on my way in to the office.

I love a coffee first thing in the morning but none of that American filter rubbish!
Go espresso or go home!

Thank you all for your well wishes.

It was a crazy auction - price did not represent good value IMHO. Fortunately "brain took over from heart" and I didn't bid at all in the end. Back to the drawing board (or realestate.com.au).

Bit of an emotional let down - turns out I should have gone to the Hunter - probably would have been more pleasant than the alternative.

I guess your not the crazy person who spent 935k for a home in Sunshine.

TID WILL COVER ME FOR THE DVT - I CAN GO TO ALASKA!

Assuming I get medical clearance that is! Exactly 3 months time.

Good news. Most people with DVTs on anticoagulants can indeed travel 3 months afterwards.
Unfortunately you are not most people having your DVT at the wrong end of the body.
That though means you are "an interesting case"so you will be followed up by the specialist.Ask him/her at your next appointment.

Any AFFer have any clues where in MEL to get a deal on Weber Family Q3200 Nat Gas version? Dude in Myer is happy to talk turkey but thought I would ask around also. Would also love to get 8 x $100 Coles Git Cards at 5% disc but not having much luck there.

Would it be cheaper to buy it at Master's with a 10% coupon plus WW 5% discount gift cards.

I tried Masters on Sat but the dude I spoke to told me they only stock the 3100 and not the 3200 - spose I should try again or at another store.

The 3200 from a quick google is $829, lpg @ $799. I was thinking of maybe a conversion kit but that will probably cost at least $100.

On US amazon it is $419 usd but doesn't ship to Australia. Ah the Australian tax.

Masters def only stock 3100 - have to wait til Wed to talk to the Myer dude again. Other specialty bbq retailers all stating no movt on price.

Have you tried Weber direct to see if they have a refurbished 3200 model? Often we get stock back from the retailer where we test it and then sell it as a refurb at one third off to avoid ending up with a room full of product. Unfortunately we don't do BBQs for you CE.

Oh no; I paid BAS without a credit card, Cove won't be happy.

Also another day at work, and I am feeling ill I would rather not be here, but so much to do.

So take the day off spend 4 hours at the doctor to say stay home and rest, and then come back to work 3 days later with twice as much work to do.

cough. I have a blood clot in my neck and on my way to hospital. No heart attack though. Normal ecg. Rare apparently.

Have seen your updates hen realised I missed the initial post :o. Glad to hear it was picked up and hopefully will have no long term consequences.

Just landed myself a new job!

Also missed this one and should have congratulated you!

Yesterday, we received a letter offering Little Miss enrollment in high school. 3 years to go til high school fees start! (Well, more like 2 3/4 years, I expect, as I'm sure we'll have to shell out before term 1 of grade 7).
Our appointment is August and then we expect to get offer shortly thereafter. Wheee, where have the years gone? Likely you'll pay a terms fees in advance sometime between now and then, if it's like similar offers we'v heard

DJs? 10% off if you buy vouchers through the entertainment book...
Spoke to DJ's - they only stock 3100 - staff member I spoke to told me 3200 exclusively sold by bbq retailers - go figure.

Spoke to Weber - they do not have any seconds / rebuilds etc and never do allegedly - again go see a bbq retailer was the response.

I'm kinda allergic to paying full price - I can get a trimmed price at Sale but that's 220km away - Straitman any chance you can collect it for me and deliver to Parkdale tomorrow?

Influenza again? Hope you get better soon.

I get sick everytime I think about going to work. Just as well I don't drink otherwise I could end up an alcoholic!!!!

Gotta tell you I have had a 'guts full' of Star Track today also - total 'Fawlty Towers' episode with a new computer Cruiserette ordered from Dell - OMG - if it happened to JohnnyK or Bundy I would p**s myself laughing - but when it happens to me not happy Jan!

I can't imagine where you found terrible coffee in either France or Italy.
Unless perhaps you were looking for a "flat white" which doesn't exist in either country.
But then once you adulterate coffee with milk or sugar it's all much of a muchness.

I was after a long black. Italian friends told me to ask for Cafe Nero. In Italy they told me they called it Americano. Now I know why. It was the same watery cough that you get in America

Another trick is to order an espresso with a jug of hot water on the side.
Because even when they do bring you a "long black" their long black is only about 2 x an espresso.
It's not as long as our "long black".
