Seems I'll be selling my 2001 Custom Epiphone Les Paul tomorrow or the next day. Bit of a downer.

Not as much the downer I went through a few weeks ago when I sold my 1997 American Std Stratocaster. I loved her so much. There was a time when she felt like an extension of me.
But it was time to let her go and live a new life.

I do miss the smell of her though.

Am I weird?

Very good question GarrettM you asked about yourself namely "Am I weird" ?
You may have been a little corrupted by AFF but the antidote is to go travelling as a family.
You can then post into "Made any travel mistakes lately thread" to prove your case.

Re: You know you are a frequent flyer when ...

Anyone suggest a way to stop cooking smells and other household smells? A normal face mask such as those worn by doctors/nurses is not enough.

Don't cook at home ?....
Ok seriously though, I have an extractor fan above the stove, it isn't super strong, but there are better models I believe. I like to leave mine on for a while after cooking ( and start it up before I turn the stove on)
Mrs GPH has (allergic) issues with perfumes and fragrances, especially in confined spaces, so I get your pain.

Anyone else have high Ferritin levels? Medical Fishing expedition caught a fish but not the one expected. Still a WIP.

Haemochromatosis !! I happen to know somebody with that.

High levels of ferritin can indicate an iron storage disorder, such as hemochromatosis, or a chronic disease process.

Probably. :(. I'm not alcoholic, nor obese, no infection right now, not diabetic, have had multiple scans this week for cancer so thank god thats out. Then this thing pops up. But doesn't explain the clot. Doing genetic testing for Leiden V and now this!
Bad blood methinks. Although this would explain so much other stuff. Just not the clot. Plunged into a world of medical right now.

... But today I shared a special moment. Having dinner with my old mum tonight and she saved the chicken's wishbone to snap with me. She recounted the story of her nanna who would always save the wishbone to break with her.

A peculiar urban tradition. But a very special moment for me...

For those unfamiliar with the tradition of cracking the wishbone, apparently it goes back to the Romans.

Unfortunately a diagnosis is often not straightforward Pushka. It is good to hear you don't have cancer.

Thinking of you.

The things I never learnt about science-
Glaciers are key icons of climate change and global environmental change. However, the relationships among gender, science, and glaciers – particularly related to epistemological questions about the production of glaciological knowledge – remain understudied. This paper thus proposes a feminist glaciology framework with four key components: 1) knowledge producers; (2) gendered science and knowledge; (3) systems of scientific domination; and (4) alternative representations of glaciers. Merging feminist postcolonial science studies and feminist political ecology, the feminist glaciology framework generates robust analysis of gender, power, and epistemologies in dynamic social-ecological systems, thereby leading to more just and equitable science and human-ice interactions.

I plead ignorance.

The feminists have the answer to everything?

Someone please let me off at the next stop. I think I took a wrong turn somewhere....

A high ferritin can mean iron overload but you also need a high transferrin saturation.
A high ferritin in isolation is usually an acute phase reactant indicating some inflammation somewhere in the body.Doesn't tell you where.
