Speaking of sheep like behaviour I should go and get an iron test, a cholesterol test, a PSA test and some LFTs again. It's been quite a few months now.

How deep can you obtain them? I've seen them used before to make fairly shallow pannacottas, e.g. about thick biscuit height.
In any case, I don't have any right now. Can they be quite expensive?

Silicon moulds are everywhere these days. Definitely kitchen shops, but even Target, Big W or KMart should have them. I have silicon muffin moulds which come in a six mould, a cup cake size of 12, and individual egg poachers !

MrP is on the same track.

When a well known woman succumbs to breast cancer the number of mammograms increase. When one of my kid' friends mother died in her '40's of cervical cancer, off we all trotted. When David Hookes family donated his organs, the number of organ donations increased (for a while anyway). Pretty sure lives get saved. Sometimes herd mentality is a good thing.

Penegal do not put off having your blood tested. I just arrived home from Brisbane to my test results. It doesn't hurt a bit.

Yes - can deal with spiders and even snakes but leeches?

No planned Dr visits this week - yay.
Take care. I thought I was bad but at least I know what's wrong with me. Most things anyway. ;)

Wake up and take 2 Panadeine Forte, 2 Nurofen Zavance and still in pain. Disc de-generation is not fun. Left hip and left knee are struggling and I have to remember to lead with my right. The left side has almost given way a few times coming off bus/train etc.

Ah, I had a disc rupture when I was 30. The pain as it burst is etched in my mind forever, and which I describe as a knife running down my leg. Disc removed by surgery although it was no longer in my spine but in the spinal canal. Many years later my calf is still numb as are 2 of my toes!

Its funny - it takes just a few seconds for life just to change!

And of course MrP and I are revisiting all our 'life events' and close calls because of the happenings of the last 2 weeks and for the next few weeks.

They shoot horses don't they?

Luckily the treatment of Haemochromatosis is easy - just donate blood.
Mmm, a bit tricky when on blood thinners for a blood clot.

I think the issue with this disease is that people don't know they have it. And its only recently they have had genetic testing.

The humane thing to do?

Actually Panadeine Forte has worked this morning. Feel numb. Need to stop getting the generic alternatives to save a few dollars.

Sometimes I think it is better not to know what decision you've got as it can make things worse.

Of course if it's life threatening then the earlier the diagnosis the better.

The things I never learnt about science-

Glaciers, gender, and science

Wow.Feminist glaciology, feminist political ecology, feminist postcolonial science studies and the problems of gendered science.
I plead ignorance.

I have to admit that as I skim read your post I misread feminist postcolonial science studies as: "feminist postcoital science studies" which, I suppose, would have been quite interesting.

Depends on whether they're applied scientists or theoretical?

Haemochromatosis is life threatening. Liver cancer is not good.

Panadeine Forte?

why not try some real painkillers?
Like what? I'd love some help.

I have used Tramadol in past. An ER doctor told me that would be my saviour. Nothing.

I have been on Endone. Cannot handle the hallucinations and nightmares.

And then there are other side effects. For now Panadeine Forte and the numbness once or twice a day will help me through.

I don't know. I don't believe in that cough. But SWMBO has a whole range of prescription painkillers for her migraines of varying strengths. I think they travel in an ex-business class amenities pack that someone here kindly forwarded to us.

Panadeine forte is in with the lollies and breath mints.

Or maybe social scientists!

Either way, it could be a pretty awesome experiment.

LOL. I'll keep that in mind. Doesn't help me much though.

Got my stitches out today and my pathology tests came back clear so I'm feeling pretty pleased.
They prescribed stupidly strong painkillers after my surgery but didnt need anything more than panadol, which is unsual given the rate at which my body usually burns through pain relief.

I have some cupcake silicon moulds you could borrow to try them out!
