Re: Best QF Status Run Options - Questions and General Discussion

Foxtel remotes I discovered are no longer available from Harvey Norman. Now have to order one via Foxtel. I am told it will take up to 10 days for it to arrive.

Intra - Australian courier services are so lacklustre.
Last year I ordered Skis from Vermont USA and it was delivered to Jindabyne 2627 (so not a capital city) in 5 calendar days.
2 years ago at 2130hrs while sitting in a condo in a Colorado ski resort 5 hours by road to DEN ordered from Amazon a $50 multi voltage multi region bluray player from some shop in Kentucky. I received a call from the front desk the next morning at 0800 to say A parcel had arrived for me. And this was a free delivery in the depths of winter and the UPS truck had to drive through snow covered mountain pass roads to get to me.

Why not buy a Logitech universal remote? This gives you one to rule them all.

Re: Best QF Status Run Options - Questions and General Discussion

Thanks TheRealTMA,

Does the Logitech universal remotes have the IQ3 profile preprogrammed?

The Bluetooth Foxtel remote is Shute!!!!!. And the IQ3 is so slow. My remote was playing up so I rang Foxtel cust service and the agent said just remove batteries and rub the buttons as though you were cleaning the remote. Still Shute!!!. Apparently sometimes the remote buttons get stuck. Yep it's Shute!!!

Can you recommend a particular model number?

I can operate everything else via the relevant iPad app for Yamaha amps, Tidal and Spotify via BlueSound Powernode. Waiting for Pioneer plasma to die before replacing it. Have shouted at it during rugby matches and at other times but it still keeps going since I bought it in 2006.

Can't really answer that. I have an older very programmable LogitechHarmony 1100i which works for every one of 8 devices I have now including various media servers etc from preselected profiles from Logitech. I did use it for Foxtel many years ago but no longer subscribe. A case of GIYF I suggest.:)

a quick search gave me this which suggests yes.

Johnny Johnny Johnny - trying to save thrupence has now cost you 3 days huh?

I actually thought about about you today Johnny - drove past MEL Airport Golf Club - amazing how the human mind works isn't it?
Who said anything about saving money?

I love travelling and I love original quirky routings. Unfortunately when I committed to this routing the SQ timings to get to MNL didn't quite work out.

Some of my future routings are getting better. BNE-SYD-MEL-KUL-SIN-BKK-CNX anyone?

Can you please detail your BNE-CNX itinerary.
BNE-SYD on QF to go home and pack. Then award SYD-MEL-KUL-SIN-BKK on QF, EK, 3K, CX. Then BKK-CNX on PG.

Leave SYD ~10:00pm and get into CNX ~8:00pm next day. Haven't booked yet. Thinking of cheating and doing KUL-CNX on Air Asia.

Don't do it, JohnK! Saving money is not everything. :)

Update on the phone situation - new phone arrived late on Friday. Had huge trouble with the SIM burn, but finally got it working today.

After a few days as a Luddite, I am back online.

Still feel pretty down about the whole situation though... So much for being frugal and taking the tram - should have cabbed or ubered it.
I finally gave up hoping my phone might come back to life and got Mr FM to buy me a new phone yesterday. Deeply resentful, as I hardly ever use it, but we got rid of our home phone last year and only run mobiles, so I suppose I have to have one. I will never ever try and carry the washing, my iphone and ipad together from the bedroom again.

Ouch!

Didn't bounce?

God this traffic is awful. Moving along at ~40km/hr the past couple of hours. This is depressing. I want to get out and walk.

And the stupid people in power in Sydney think it's a marvellous idea to continue building high density housing without improvements to infrastructure. Brilliant.

i very carefully put the ipad on the family room table and then the washing and the iphone in the washing machine. It bounced all right - for half an hour as it went up and down. (We have a front loader, so none of that gentle swishing around....).

Near Easter show?

Well it did seem that at the time that only the children knew how to do the dishes and other assorted household tasks. ;)
