Wasn't it a ruling of T. Abbott that Ministers and back-benchers would no longer fly in J? Especially on personal trips.
I think Turnbull has softened it somewhat, but not 100% sure on that.

Nothing wrong with them travelling in J or F on personal trips...so long as they themselves pay.

Sorry I did mean unless, rather than especially.

One thing is that people often don't try to understand whether it's a holiday or a work trip. The perception is that if they are flying, we (the taxpayer) are paying for it, so we are not paying them to fly J if we can help it.

Re: Best QF Status Run Options - Questions and General Discussion

Free data for Telstra customers on the 3 April.

Now Telstra needs to do this properly as I am sure some smart people will be downloading complete movie sets and other things that will take up a lot of bandwidth.

From News.com.au

I'll have to bring my Telstra phone on the wine tour.

They almost always sit in J. Last night the flight was full because of the late parliamentary sittings and almost all the pollies ended up in Y.

Some years back (over 10), Mr LtL used to fly between ADL and CBR regularly. On one memorable flight Kath & Kim was showing on the o'head screen and everyone seemed to be laughing except the person in 1C who happened to be Amanda Vanstone. I guess she was thinking about other things. Anyway flight landed and the person in 1A scurried to be out of there. In their wisdom somehow QF had seated Natasha Stott-Despoja next to AV. Mr LtL said it looked like a frosty flight!

AV used to live in the street at right angles to ours. Funniest thing I've seen was when a big political story broke (cant remember what now), there was Jana Wendt going door knocking trying to find out which house was AV's.

Well they are using the Optus network. They are usually known for their association with animals, not deities.

I thought the way mobile networks have been going lately, going with God was a vast improvement.

Update on the phone situation - new phone arrived late on Friday. Had huge trouble with the SIM burn, but finally got it working today.

After a few days as a Luddite, I am back online.

Still feel pretty down about the whole situation though... So much for being frugal and taking the tram - should have cabbed or ubered it.

Lounging is good but why do some of us fly the most indirect routes.
Currently I am in Auckland after flying up from Wellington this morning.
Lounges are good and the upgrades when they come can be great.
So tired at the moment.

Some of us don't do it for the lounges.

CNX-BKK-SIN-MNL-SYD-BNE next week. 2 red eyes. Forgot about luggage and golf clubs for MNL transit. What started off as a good plan is now looking like a burden. Oh well.

I thought, going on some posts in another thread, that JohnK's non-direct flights were to requalify for WP, a long status run in fact. I may well be mistaken, however.
