Poor wife.

She thought I was arriving into BKK midnight last night and she was coming down from Chiang Mai today after lunch. Well they are both true so I didn't lie.

Last night while I was in HKG waiting for flight to BKK I told her that I was coming back to HKG then back to back to BKK in morning.

The first thing she said "Why ting tong want go back to HKG?". LOL. I told her these 2 flights will get me to Platinum again for another year. Will be on exactly 1200 SCs end May.

Haven't told her about day trip to LAX yet. :p

Re: Best QF Status Run Options - Questions and General Discussion

oh that's really a pain. Was it a work supplied one or your own - either way all that effort now to set up another one :(

BYOD.

In any case, a new one will be shipped today, and hopefully arrive tomorrow. It's a bit ridiculous that they must be dispatched from a central warehouse. Why can't I pick up a phone from the store, and then they make it all work in their systems?

In the interim I am pretending to be a drug dealer for a day or two with an old handset (and a new SIM card), so same number, but no fancy stuff.

Re: Best QF Status Run Options - Questions and General Discussion

I found a really great site as the result of a TV news report last night. It aims to build up a record of ANZAC service in all wars.

Have a look at:

Make a contribution. I was proud to.

SIGH - Another phone stolen

I have an antique Samsung flip phone - NOBODY wants to steal that !! Still works fine, I don't make a lot of calls or texts, I don't take photos with my phone and I don't need the internet walking around. Oh and I don't need it for work .... as I don't work anymore !!!!

Well at least you didn't wash yours, which is what I did yesterday :(

oops :( :(

It was funny this morning - I felt "naked" without a phone. I think many of us would learn a lesson or two if we were to "go without" our smartphones for a few days.

Already I have noticed that I often go to fiddle with my phone, then realise that it's the little old "burn phone" and don't bother.

I left my phone at home during our honeymoon of NZ. It was extremely liberating not to feel compelled to check it every few minutes for emails etc.

And speaking of that trip, stay tuned for more updates! http://www.australianfrequentflyer....honeymooning-land-long-white-cloud-74681.html

On the tram
Oh that's terrible. It seems like you and I competing to see who can get more miserable.

Have 2 wallets with me with a lot money and still have them after going around in circles. Wife will be here soon and she can take care of our money.

I am not trying... Just having a bad run :( :( :(

I am sitting on the courier company website refreshing my tracking info. Hopefully it gets a flight (or road train?) down to Melbourne tonight so it can be delivered in tomorrow morning's delivery run.

If an officer of power does not have the power to demand something of you by specific letter of the law, but they ask for it anyway, are you within your rights to refuse and reasonably expect your continuing your current activity without impediment?

I can see officers just bringing up any old excuse (e.g. identity theft check, possible suspicion of person of interest) to coerce you into complying. One may find refusal is not worth the effort of reaffirming your rights in such a case, especially if you're genuinely not a criminal.

anatOl, I understand your thinking, but it is only very green, wet-behind-the-ears law enforcement officers that would dare risk that. If they try to invoke some power that involves "suspicion an offence is being committed" or similar, they must prove this if it is contested.

When police start to act outside the spirit and intent of the law, they quickly come unstuck.

At least there are less people in this than in your QM2 video where we had to spot you in the 2800 passengers!

They all look very very young! Is that him on the right?

Thought you would be happy :)
